The Venice Golf and Country Club (VGCC) is a private, member-owned country club located five miles from the Gulf of Mexico in sunny Venice, Florida. VGCC is an international leader for sustainability and environmental issues and is GEO, Vivid Leaf, and Audubon Certified. Amenities include a vibrant, top-quality food and beverage operation, a challenging Audubon Certified 18-hole golf course, extensive golf range, short game practice areas, a very active tennis program with four Har-Tru courts, a resort-style pool, and a well-equipped fitness center. The membership currently is at full capacity with over 600 members. The Club is in excellent financial condition and is beginning a $6.7M capital improvement project this year. Job Summary
VGCC seeks an experienced Membership and Marketing Director with an outgoing and engaging personality. You will be responsible for marketing and recruiting golf members into our gated community. This includes creating a very positive presence within the real estate and local business community. Equally important is the ability to market internally and engage our current membership. You must have the ability to conduct market research, effectively network with peers, and understand the private club market in the Venice area. The chosen candidate must be very detail-oriented and a self-starter who can work both independently and in a team environment. The position is available immediately.
Job Tasks/Duties
Membership Sales and Marketing
· Plan and implement strategies to meet membership goals.
· Identify markets to be targeted and track all prospective member leads.
· Create membership and lead activity reports for presentation to the Membership Committee.
· Conduct tours for prospective members/realtors and maintain a core group of member ambassadors to golf with and entertain prospective members
· Collaborate with realtors, title companies and Accounting department on listings, estoppels and closing documents.
Member Services
· Plan and coordinate prospective member functions.
· Develop and execute member retention recommendations to the Membership Committee.
· Collaborate with Master Association on the member onboarding process.
· Process all member requests for upgrades, downgrades, purchases, and leases.
Communications and Department Management
· Write and manage club communications, including marketing brochures, newsletter, local media, social media platforms, club app, website communication and maintenance, etc.
· Maintain database of listings, closings and rentals within the community as well as the Club’s database of membership files.
· Manage the annual membership department budget.
· Actively participate in the local chapter of the membership directors to share ideas, surveys, etc. as they relate to membership policies.
· Complete other appropriate assignments made by the General Manager.
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
· Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Canva and the ability to learn proprietary applications
· Proficiency with website maintenance, Facebook, Instagram, phone apps; experience with Jonas Club Management Software and Members First a plus
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in in business, marketing, public relations, communications, hotel or restaurant management or related field. Previous work experience within a Club setting or minimum five years’ experience in a related field is preferred but not required. Candidate must be outgoing and exhibit excellent interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and time management is critical. This position requires the ability and desire to work flexible hours, which may include some evenings and weekends.

Compensation is commensurate with experience. Benefits include health, dental, 401 K, and vacation package.
