POSITION SUMMARY:
Providing strategic leadership, the Director of Strategic Initiatives is responsible for the planning, development, facilitation, coordination and implementation of ECS strategic initiatives across the organization. The Director of Strategic Initiatives will also evaluate and measure efforts and make recommendations to change course when necessary to ensure ECS impact and to achieve strategic goals and operational objectives.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead all aspects of impact, program initiatives and strategic planning.
- Communicate actions and processes clearly, protecting and enhancing ECS reputation and standing in the community, and represent ECS in a variety of settings.
- Lead implementation and evolution of ECS’ strategic plan through skilled project planning, with an openness to being responsive to changing conditions.
- Identify and incorporate best practices, feedback and lessons learned into program plans.
- In partnership with other Directors, develop systems, policies and procedures to meet strategic goals.
- Embrace the values of diversity, equity and inclusion and ensure they are reflected in strategic initiatives.
- Communicate strategic actions clearly and provide a broad range of consultative services regarding the strategic plan.
- Capture and disseminate data and insights, communicating both written and verbal, as appropriate to ECS Leadership.
- Participate as a speaker, panel member, or moderator in professional settings.
- Facilitate trainings or meetings to execute strategic initiatives.
- Promote flexibility and foster a strong, positive team environment providing mentorship and guidance to staff as required.
- Engage external stakeholders to assist in the development, partnership, planning and coordination of new initiatives.
- Create and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external colleagues and community partners.
- Simultaneously manage multiple, deadline-driven projects, tasks and initiatives.
- Acknowledge and celebrate accomplishments and successes.
- Attend all meetings as assigned.
- Carry out special projects as required and perform all other duties as assigned.

- Experience and expertise in developing high quality learning experiences and knowledge resources with familiarity in organizing and managing convening meetings and/or trainings that focus both on emerging content-related issues as well as on the challenges of creating and running an impactful strategic program.

- Proven experience balancing multiple projects and meeting time sensitive deadlines.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Minimum five years of strategic planning/implementation experience in a senior leadership position.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required.
OTHER: Must secure finger image screening and annual TB screening. Must be able to meet physical requirements of the position which may include long periods at a desk and/or computer terminal. Must travel to all ECS sites. Will honor and abide by Episcopal Community Services rules and regulations, including confidentiality.
