The Director, Government Relations and Public Affairs serves in support of our efforts to create an environment in which our business, across all categories, can grow unencumbered. Specifically, this individual helps enhance relationships and builds results with local stakeholders regarding the reputation of the company as a growth business and key community partner. This individual is responsible for government relations/issues management, Market Unit leadership communications, stakeholder relations and local community connections.
Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
Accountable for government, stakeholder and community relationship building in assigned geography.
Develop, manage and enable delivery of key messages to important stakeholder audiences to clearly define and communicate Company’s strategic business priorities (issue positions impacting business, reputation management, ambassadorship, etc.), while also promoting, reaffirming company brands and programs.
Provide counsel to the business around government relations trends, challenges, opportunities, etc. (solid recommendations around taking advantage of upcoming trends, assessing those issues which need to be raised to the Business, manage the dialogue around opportunities, etc.).
Develop and execute strategic communication plans for the Market Unit Leadership Team (including speeches, presentations, briefing documents, town halls, etc.)
Other projects and duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
Bachelorâs Degree
8 years Government Relations and Public Affairs experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Advanced writing
Community Relations
Microsoft Office proficiency
This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test.
