The Director will lead the growth and strategy for CNBC Select, a new online destination aimed at helping people take control of their money. Initially through credit card product reviews, tips and best-of lists written by a dedicated team of CNBC Select writers, users will be armed with the information they need to choose the right financial products for their lives.

The CNBC Select Director will work closely with key stakeholders for this new revenue stream, including both commercial as well as editorial teams, to develop and execute a go-forward strategic plan for this venture. A successful candidate will be a highly motivated, effective communicator with a strong business mind and highly developed analytical skillset to drive commercial leadership and achieve affiliate marketing targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set Strategy: Set the vision, business strategy, and long-term plan for the division in a matrixed environment to achieve sustainable YoY growth

    • Work closely with CNBC’s digital editorial + product leads to determine content strategy and product roadmap in order to maximize monetization potential and the business development team to manage partner relationships and expand partner offerings
  • Manage P&L: Report on monthly business financials and key drivers in detail

The Director will own the budget, capital allocation, forecasting and risk assessment processes associated with growth

  • Audience / User Development: Working closely with the product and research / analytics teams, the Director will need to curate a deep understanding of CNBC Select audiences to develop new site features and functionality that drive revenue
  • Stakeholder Management: The Director will regularly present to CNBC leadership on CNBC Select strategy and growth trajectory

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in affiliate marketing, news, advertising, and/or digital strategy
  • Ability to understand P&L financials
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with diverse team
  • Ability to present information to a variety of audiences and deal effectively with executives
