We currently have an opening for a Manager of R&D Accounting who will report to the Controller.

About the Role

SpringWorks Therapeutics is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Manager of R&D Accounting to join our Finance team. Working closely with the Controller, the Accountant is responsible for assisting with financial close activities, accounts payable, account reconciliations, financial reporting and financial planning & analysis. The ideal candidate is an all-around team player who is passionate, enthusiastic, has excellent communication skills, and thrives under pressure and deadlines.


Responsibilities Include

  • Support the R&D point of contact for all outside vendors
  • Audit/Review vendor invoices for payment approval and assist with resolving invoice discrepancies
  • Actively participate in month-end close meetings with R&D personnel
  • Prepare R&D journal entries, and keep accurate books and records to help close in a timely manner at month-end, quarter-end, and year-end
  • Assist R&D FP&A with quarterly and annual forecasts, budgeting process, reporting and variance analysis
  • Prepare ad hoc budget reports as requested by Management
  • Assist in the development, documentation, and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls


About You: Required Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Relevant accounting experience in a R&D firm
  • Prior experience with contracts working with Clinical Research Organizations (CROs)
  • Understand the financial impact of proposed scope changes and study timeline adjustments
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Prior experience establishing and maintaining accruals and related expenses on R&D activities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Detailed oriented and highly organized
  • Able to work independently and autonomously
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and is able handle multiple priorities


Preferred Education, Skills, and Experience

  • Active CPA license preferred
  • Biotech / Pharmaceutical experience
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central
  • Familiarity with SAP Concur
  • Experience with Transparency reporting
