The IT Business Analyst/Decision Support Analyst is responsible for analyzing business and user needs, evaluating processes and systems, and documenting business needs and requirements for processes and systems that will be used Company wide. In addition, the IT Business Analyst is responsible for owning the delivery of projects which requires managing project timelines, tasks, resources, user expectations and communication. The IT Business Analyst will be required to work closely with business project stakeholders who are often high level managers and executives, so the ability to work with business users and maintain positive relationships is critical. This position plays a central role in aligning the needs of the business with the capabilities delivered by information technology, and serves as the liaison between the business and technical groups. Must primarily perform office or non-manual work directly related to management policies or general business operations. Also, must exercise independent choice and judgment in matters of consequence 50% or more of the time
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Consults with business unit and executive management and personnel to identify and document business needs and objectives. Conduct workshops with multiple stakeholders from project, technology, business and vendor teams and document their outcome to further clarify business requirements.
- Develops and manages the lifecycle of a project to ensure milestones are achieved and project deliverables are produced on time and in line with user needs by tracking project tasks and notifying management of potential issues.
- Identifies and makes recommendations for potential areas where existing business services, policies and procedures require change or new ones need to be developed.
- Works with project team members outside of IT to identify current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, data scope, usage, formatting, and security requirements for assigned projects. Develops and executes the roll out strategies, cut-over plans, end-user training and support, and end-user documentation.
- Formulates and defines the scope and objectives of new systems based upon user needs and a thorough understanding of our business and the broader agriculture industry.
- Analyzes business and user needs, evaluates processes and systems, and builds requirement documentation.
- Create user stories/use cases, process & data flows and scenarios in order to clearly communicate a set of functional requirements.
- Devises or modifies procedures and business processes to solve complex problems considering software capability, computer equipment capacity and limitations, operation time, and form of desired results.

- Directs the project related activities associated with system enhancements, including documentation, business requirements gathering, testing and implementation.
- Designs and executes test plans to ensure that business requirements and functional specifications are implemented properly and meet ROI objectives.
- Applies knowledge of business systems to determine feasibility of projects.
- Develops, edits, and maintains standard operating procedure documentation and training manuals for projects.
- Conducts training sessions for new implementations, enhanced systems and procedures.
- Other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
- Reliable and regular attendance is expected.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science or related field from an accredited four-year college or university and one to five years experience in financial applications, project management, or Enterprise Business Suite applications. Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) or related certification is a plus, but not required.
