We are seeking a Director of Communications who will be a key member of AVL Digitalâs Marketing team and focus on communication strategy and development for all its brands (CD Baby, Soundrop, AdRev, DashGo). This position will report to the VP of Marketing while working closely with key stakeholders from each brand.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Create strategic communication plans for CD Baby, AdRev, DashGo, and other AVL Digital brands.
- Draft internal and external communication plans for key brand announcements.
- Define press opportunities that tell our story and elevate the AVL brands within targeted audiences.
- Manage relationship with PR firm working on PR for all AVL Digital brands.
- Work with senior leadership and relevant stakeholders to create and manage a cohesive brand narrative and support messaging materials.
- Craft high quality, accurate materials, including: press releases, fact sheets, talking points, messaging docs, presentations, and other communications materials for external audiences.
- Monitor industry news calendars, as well as market-related news and events, to assess proactive opportunities for media outreach.
- Manage submissions for relevant industry awards.
- Collaborate with senior team to develop a thought leadership strategy that positions AVL brands as a industry leaders.
- Collaborate with counterparts within other Downtown Music Holdings companies on key initiatives, projects, insights/data and goals, where as needed.
- Maintain brand decks for AVL Digital Brands.
- Manage brand appropriate presentation materials and archive past presentations for future use.
- Point person for non-marketing communication (internal and external) for critical business issues.
- Additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- 4-6 years of experience working in PR, media relations, marketing communications or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but will consider candidates with more working experience without a completed degree.
- Ideal candidate will have both B2B and B2B communications experience.
- Strong writer and editor with proofreading skills and an eye for detail.
- Existing media relationships with music and/or technology beat.
- Start-up or agency experience is a plus.
- Self-motivated expert multi-tasker with superior organizational, project management skills, and intellectually curious.
