Associate Program Director

We are seeking an innovative, self-starter, a Masters level (preferred) professional with experience, passion, and ability to connect with at-risk and homeless pregnant and parenting youth. This opportunity requires working directly with clients as well as program management and oversight. M-
F 9a-5:30p – Venice work location.

The Landing at St. Robert’s Center in Venice is a new, one-of-a-kind, locally-supported pregnant and parenting wellness and respite center supporting young parents and soon-to-be parents, ages 14-25 and their children. We provide a safe, trauma-informed, “home” environment supporting positive parent/child attachments and parenting skills, healthy living and lifestyle choices, stress reduction and emotional well-being, and guidance with healing past trauma- all in a nurturing environment of mentoring and peer community building. We welcome all genders, races, ethnicities, and religious beliefs. We are a collaborating partner with Venice-based Safe Place for Youth (SPY) in the Department of Mental Health’s
Innovations 2 program.

At 100 years since inception, our parent agency, Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc., is one of the largest social services providers in California and operates 20+ community centers and five homeless shelters, as well as a variety of programs serving the poor and homeless including: in-home services for homebound seniors; refugee resettlement; youth employment services; counseling; affordable after school care; immigration assistance; housing assistance; case management and temporary worker center.

Primary duties include, but not limited to:

• Assist with all aspects of management & administration of a new pregnant & parenting youth program, including creation of policies and procedures, intake & case management, oversight of outcome measures, developing materials and class curriculum, outreach to referring agencies and youth clients. QI, resource development, and financial management/budgeting.
• Case manage and assist pregnant and parenting youth with personal, educational and parenting goals. Assesses client needs and develops problem solving relationships with clients. Develops plans to fulfill assessment goals and referrals where appropriate and necessary. Serves clients through counseling, advocacy, and guidance. Open spirit of collaboration with partnering agencies and organizations.
• Conduct and lead parenting groups and educational classes. Individual and couples counselling.
• Assure and provide safe, trauma-informed, supportive environment for clients.
• Prepare intake, closing and progress reports on clients and maintains all paperwork at a professional level according to guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required/Master’s degree preferred – social work, public health, child development or other closely related field (licensed or non-licensed considered)
• 3- 5 years of direct experience and passion for working with at-risk and homeless pregnant & parenting youth. Trained in and highly sensitive to trauma impacted youth’s characteristics and needs. Experience in program management, case management, creating & reporting outcome measures, counselling and leading parenting groups.
• Self-starter, organized, strong attention to detail, effective follow through with outreach and projects.
• Excellent English oral & written communication, bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $60,000.00 to $75,000.00 /year
