The Assistant Director of Clinical Development manages and assists in developing the clinical components of Incubator operation applications related to the ordering provider and patient experiences. Represents the patient/provider perspective and provides clinical guidance for Incubator projects. Coordinates patient/client experience projects both internally and with outside vendors. Fosters collaboration between Clinical Staff and development teams to ensure these applications meet the needs and expectations of the end user. Interacts directly with clients/patients to understand and anticipate needs and guide activities. Represents GeneDx at educational and professional meetings. Works in cooperation with the Director of Clinical Development in recruitment of new employees and participates in overseeing training of new employees.
Responsibilities:
1. Works directly with the internal development team and outside vendors to create new applications related to the client experience, including enrollment, return of results, long-term patient engagement and data collection.
2. Assists in setting desired outcomes related to client/patient experience.
3. Manages and coordinates client-facing project development.
4. Communicates progress of development of these new applications.
5. Engages key stakeholders to ensure their expectations of patient/client experience operations are being met, addresses concerns proactively, makes recommendations where necessary and brings to resolution.
6. Actively participates in business development including maintaining and developing professional contacts to understand and anticipate needs and guide marketing activities.
7. Assists with recruiting new employees and coordinating training of newly hired employees.
8. Assumes responsibility for understanding and performing routine administrative work related to the above duties.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education & Experience:
1. Master’s degree from an accredited genetic counseling program
2. Certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling
3. At least 3 years experience as a genetic counselor, including at least 1 year experience in a neonatal or pediatric genetics clinic and at least 1 year experience at GeneDx or another diagnostic laboratory.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
5. Demonstrated success leading and coordinating complex projects
