Vice President, Global Healthcare Solutions

The Global Healthcare Solutions function is tasked with creating, driving the Mastercard Healthcare strategy by influencing and collaborating with the internal cross functional teams and external stake holders such as Payers, Providers, Regulators, Consultants and other players in the Healthcare ecosystem worldwide to develop Mastercard Healthcare solutions and implement them globally. The function’s core objectives are to:

  • Help drive the Healthcare business
  • Build the brand and corporate reputation
  • Advance sustainable competitive advantage for Mastercard

The group is led by the President, Healthcare who reports into the CEO of Mastercard.

Role:

The Vice President, Global Healthcare Solutions role will be based in Purchase, New York and reports into the SVP, Global Healthcare Solutions, working closely and cross functionally with the Healthcare leads and Business Partners across the organization, worldwide and also with external stake holders such as the Payers, Providers, Regulatory authorities, third party agents in Healthcare, globally. The functions of this role includes:

  • Develop and execute Mastercard strategy to grow the Healthcare Business across key International Markets, with specific focus to expand Mastercard revenue streams and aligned with the Global Healthcare strategy
  • Perform Market Research and profile target markets to identify growth opportunities to advance the strategy
  • Identify, Assess and forge key partnership in the Healthcare industry partners to launch pilot programs to establish proof of concepts, leverage the learnings to tweak subsequent roll outs and then launch large scale commercial programs to grow revenue
  • Work closely with identified local market teams to formulate/validate go to market strategies and implementation plans
  • Serve as liaison to all regional stakeholder teams and create internal global “healthcare community” for knowledge transfer
  • Provide healthcare support as appropriate for global cross-industry Mastercard initiatives (e.g., Truata, Smart Cities)
  • Support the SVP, Global Healthcare Solutions to present the Mastercard Healthcare solutions to drive awareness and engagement with key stakeholders in the international markets

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have extensive Healthcare experience and is a proactive organizer, negotiator and problem-solver. The role involves working with senior stakeholders and in complex situations. A calm demeanor, measured attitude and positive outlook are essential to making it a success. Additionally, the individual must be comfortable and available working long hours and weekends if and when required. Specifically, the candidate must meet the following criteria:

  • Proactive organizer, negotiator and problem-solver
  • Project management capabilities dealing with annual planning forecasts and budgets
  • Analytical familiarity with forecasts and budgets
  • Outstanding presentation skills and strong executive presence
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic and matrixed environment
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and exhibits self-motivation
  • Possesses high EQ and comfortable with exposure to senior executives
  • High integrity and strong work ethic
  • Positive, cheerful attitude
  • Post Graduate Management degree with proven success in Healthcare preferred
  • Willing to travel at least 40-50% of the time
