What you’ll do
As Vice President, Enterprise Quality at SAS, you are a technical leader that is passionate about applying leadership and collaboration, with the discipline of execution to lead Enterprise Test focused on enterprise and higher order testing, quality and compliance, test automation strategies, enterprise deployment and integration testing, enterprise performance and enterprise security. The Enterprise Test organization directly compliments the product delivery teams by advancing their vison, developing their day to day quality engineering skills, and generally transforming all of them (developers and testers) into better testers. This highly visible role will report to the Senior Vice President of Research and Development Engineering and interact with senior leaders and development teams across Research and Development (R&D) and the company.
We are looking for a technical leader to approach this role with new ideas, a sense of urgency, alignment to the CTO vision and most importantly the drive to succeed, with a proven ability to deliver.
You will
- Accelerate and extend automation through practices such as API testing best practices, shareable tests and mentoring and enablement
- Develop and expand an end-to-end testing framework inclusive of an automation roadmap enabling R&D’s path to Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).
- Lead the R&D efforts of quality practices to achieve industry-supported compliance and certifications including revise current standards, policies, and best practices to align with our CI/CD strategy; rewriting the Quality Imperative and driving forward the ISO 27001 certification.
- Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing skillsets, partnerships, roles and processes and develop strategies to improve and accelerate toward CI/CD principles and requirements.
- Ensure repeatable and consistent processes aligned with the corporate vision of quality standards, best practices, metrics, certifications.
- Manage the heavily matrixed environment with a focus on collaboration and prioritization influencing and enabling the decentralized product testing organizations.
- Create and execute higher order testing to assess enterprise readiness of complex workflows, integration, performance, security, and deployment.
- Drive a consistent approach to performance evaluation and reporting.
- Lead a cohesive strategy of coverage consistency, deployment, integration, and migration.
- Create and reinforce a goal-oriented, collaborative culture amongst and across the business units.
- Create and support a culture that is focused on critical thinking; prioritize the development of business acumen and its applicability to help customers achieve business value.
- Proactively identify and navigate potential issues in order to meet deadlines and schedules.
- Ensure necessary change and support documentation.
