You will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of McLagan’s Performance Consulting Group within Aon Hewitt’s Talent, Rewards and Performance team. Performance Consulting Group:
Revenue GPS
Positional benchmarking / performance drivers: Understand relative position and performance trends across the full market or within a selected peer group, during a period when many are aggressively trying to hold or improve their market position
Performance tracking (by region / product / staff / client): Incorporate quantitative revenue benchmarks into the performance measurement process and monitor progress relative to goals over time, enhancing the level of objective inputs into compensation decisions
Opportunity analysis: Identify market segments and clients that offer the greatest potential, across the full scope of McLagan coverage, as the client landscape fundamentally changes
Resource allocation: At a time when development of client relationships may be as important as ever and coverage resources are limited (or in some cases newly acquired), ensure that resources are focused where potential exists
A sample list of questions that our products help answer are:
Business Performance
- How did industry profit margins vary across different types of firms?
- Per dollar of revenue, how much did firms spend on investments, sales and operations?
- How much were specific expenses (e.g., rent, benefits, and travel) as a percent of revenue?
Value/Profit Sharing
- How much were investment professionals paid as a percentage of revenues and how has that changed over time?
- What were compensation and benefits payout rates in 2011 and how were compensation and benefits structured?
- What were bonus payout rates relative to profit?
- How was the overall pay pie divided between investments, sales, and administration?
- What were absolute and relative staffing levels in investments, sales and operations?
- Where have firms expanded globally and how have they dealt with the challenges of operating in Asia?
Your impact as a Senior Manager
As part of a highly productive team of industry experts in our team-based work environment, the Senior Manager will contribute to our clients’ business decisions made by their senior leaders, including executive management and boards of directors.
- Researching existing and emerging trends in client business
- Analyzing data related to surveys and client engagements
- Completing complex analyses; writing reports
- Fielding client questions and deliver solutions
- Mentor and provide guidance to more junior staff
You Bring Knowledge and Expertise
- Relationship Management – should be able to interact with / present to clients, answer on-the-spot questions
- Commercial – the Senior Manager will have a book of business (set of clients) that he / she will be expected to maintain and grow
- Industry knowledge – need to have some understanding of Banking/Capital Markets and more specifically, Equities
- Excellent presentation skills
- Survey benchmarking skills
- Ability to derive meaningful insights from quantitative and qualitative data
- Strong mathematics and statistics
- Ability to be consultative having strong verbal and written communication
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Self-Starter / Quick learner, independent thinker – should be able to come up with their own ideas, build upon what we already do and take things to the next level
- Ability to work independently and on a team while handling multiple projects
- Creative and proactive problem-solving skills
Technical Skills – should have superior knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to build presentations, analyze data and extrapolate results from large data sets- Team – they need to be able to work well in a team setting
Project Management – not necessarily important but nice to have
Experience: 5 plus years of consulting / financial services industry experience
Education: Bachelors or Masters Degrees in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, or other relevant field of study, with proven academic excellence.
