The City of St. Cloud (approx. pop. 54,115) is located along the southern shore of East Lake Tohopekaliga in beautiful, sunny central Florida, approximately 25 miles southeast of Orlando. Part of the Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford metropolitan area, the St. Cloud is about 45-minutes west of Melbourne and the Atlantic Coast, approximately 1.5-hours east of Tampa and the Gulf Coast, and an easy 18-minute commute to the Orlando International Airport. The City of St. Cloud has a total proposed FY 2019/2020 operating budget of $51 million and a capital budget of $6 million. The City currently employs a staff of over 510 full-time and 130 part-time employees. The Information Technology (IT) Director reports to the City Manager and oversees 14 FTEs. The Information Technology Department consists of three divisions: Information Technology (IT), GIS, and Media Services. The Director supervises and directs all the phases of information technology and the security of the comprehensive City-wide information systems plan. Responsibilities include evaluation, acquisition, installation, and utilization of the City’s hardware, operating system software. Requirements for this position include a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field, supplemented by two (2) to four (4) years of progressively responsible experience; or possession of any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities. Certification as a Certified Government Chief Information Officer is preferred or must be obtained with 24 months of hire date or upon the first available qualifying testing period, whichever comes first.
