    Position: Merchandise Manager/Assistant to CEO

    Reports to: Teresa Ellison, President and CEO

    Locations: Walla Walla, WA

Founded over 20 years ago in Walla Walla, WA, Walla Walla Clothing Co has four locations in Washington and Idaho.     Overview:

    The Assistant Merchandise Manager will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible for the daily merchandise operations of the company. Responsibilities may vary according to the season, are listed below, however, not limited to:

    Responsibilities:

    · Regularly reviewing performance indicators, such as profit by vendor, top selling styles, dusty inventory and inventory turns by category.

    · Assisting with managing plans for inventory levels

    · Reacting to changes in demand and logistics

    · Produce reports to analyze sales trends, stock merchandise purchasing, inventory turns and margin by vendors/categories

    · Monitoring inventory turns by location and making recommendations for inventory location transfers

    · Liaising with other locations in relation to inventory, inventory transfers, purchase orders and other projects assigned by the CEO

    · Communicating between the CEO and managers within each location.

    · Management of the company-wide purchase order system including entering, tracking and organizing the company’s overall purchasing

    · Assisting managers with inventory receiving

    · Monitoring inventory shrinkage

    · Managing of inventory trades with vendors including trade recommendations and follow thru regarding all aspects of the trade

    · Management of trunk show inventory including ordering, monitoring sell thru and finalizing the return of unsold inventory.

    · Social media assistance, coordinated with the company’s marketing manager

    · Assistance with web site development and maintenance.

    · General office assistance including invoice review and input and filing.

    · Sales floor assistance

    Qualifications:

    · Basic understanding of retail math concepts and applications

    · Strong communications skills

    · Excellent organizational, prioritizing and problem-solving skills

    · Ability to work with within a team environment

    · Technical skill proficiency within Microsoft Excel

    Education:

    * Bachelor’s degree is preferred, however, may be substituted by prior experience.
