A&M’s Disputes and Investigations (DI) practice has set a new standard for bringing a practical, results-oriented approach to solving problems related to business investigations, complex disputes and regulatory interventions. From the boardroom to the courtroom, the firm delivers a wide array of solutions to contentious situations by drawing on the deep skills, diverse disciplines and experiences of its professionals who offer a unique ability to articulate complex findings in a clear and meaningful manner.

We are searching for a Head of Professional Development to support the Disputes and Investigations practice within A&M. At a high level, this role would cover performance management, learning and development, employee onboarding, and employee engagement for all DI employees globally. The Head of Professional Development will have immediate priorities outlined by the DI Executive Committee and will evolve as the organization and practice continues to grow. This role ideally sits in New York or Houston, but open to other locations where we have presence.

As the Head of Professional Development, you will:

  • Create an employee developmental framework to outline the skills and behaviors needed to succeed and grow at each employee level within the organization
  • Drive the global performance management (annual review) process from start to finish
  • Develop a learning & development roadmap with a catalog of required and recommended curriculum and courses at each employee level
  • Ensure that we are providing an appropriate amount of trainings and tying them to performance management in a way such that our employees are accountable and committed to their own development
  • Facilitate the coordination of local, regional, and national training efforts with DI and Corporate learning & development teams
  • Support the local office acculturation and orientation of new employees
  • Plan and coordinate orientation sessions for new hires within DI
  • Support culture-building activities to increase employee engagement

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of work experience in professional services
  • Experience within a forensic and dispute consulting practice is a plus
  • Experience with corporate learning & development is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA from a top-tier university preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong financial and business acumen; understands key business drivers and performance levers
  • Excellent executive communicator in both written and verbal form
  • Strong personal presentation; able to serve as a proxy for the executive team in a range of settings
  • Proven ability to operate in complex matrix environments, build relationships and problem-solve without direct oversight of resources
  • Fluent in MS Office, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must have flexibility to travel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
