This individual, acting as a servant leader, increases team efficiency, motivates the team, removes impediments, and manages changes that will ensure quality and timely execution, while ensuring that the definition of done is understood and followed.

SM hybrid role supporting execution and agile transformation. Responsible for overseeing multiple Scrum delivery teams within the Global Banking Data Technology organization. Strong communication skills to work with senior management to deliver requirements. Strong analytical, problem solving, quality management, and organizational skills. The desired Scrum Master will be working on enterprise level efforts involving data sourcing, aggregation, analysis and reporting with outputs to Bank Leadership and Federal Regulators. The desired candidate will oversee the SDLC of Tech and Business initiatives acting as an Agile Scrum Master. The desired candidate will be responsible for the following: scrum facilitation; guiding teams through sprints, sprint retrospectives, point estimations; risk mitigation; impediment removal; impact assessments and hitting milestones. This individual will be working in a cross functional/matrix environment.
Responsibilities:
Strategic thought leader and change agent overseeing SDM and agile execution. Ensure GT&O best practices and tools are being adopted and used effectively and efficiently. Help teams integrate with CODE2.0 and scale with SAFe adoption, assist with PI planning sessions and ensure teams/resources have the appropriate training and support to mature and grow. Partnering with leadership to serve as a Change agent and ensure buy-in from all areas impacted. Set direction on agile execution of program and how the work in hand fits with broader objectives of the group. Partner closely with leadership to understand their needs and ensure transparency into agile strategy and delivery.
Act as Scrum Master for multiple agile development teams, contributing to the successful implementation of assigned epics by ensuring that all the required elements are appropriately understood, documented, owned, and actioned by the team. Partner with agility transformation team and SDM as appropriate to help advance agile maturity model.
Partners with Business Partners and application SMEs to identify and mitigate risk and execute upon end to end technology development to deliver solutions. Manages to timelines and communicates status. Attends scrum of scrum, program iteration planning, and inspects and adapts. Lead agile team to facilitate sprint events (stand up, planning, demo, and retrospective.) Applies technical/business knowledge in determining end to end design requirements for large initiatives involving line of business and agile teams. Works closely with developers and testers to ensure requirements and designs are translated accurately into working stories. Works under minimal supervision on line of business projects requiring creative solutions. Creates forum for communicating vision, goals, and product backlog items to the team. Understands long-term product planning, while practicing agility. Coach the team in self-organization and cross-functionality. Teach and lead the team to create high-value products.
Requirements:
- Must have 5+ years of experience as an agile leader
- Scrum Master Certification
- Strong experience with JIRA
- Microsoft Excel (basic data analysis – pivot tables, vlookups, etc),
- Previous experience in the financial services field
- Excellent servant leadership, relationship management, communication, teamwork, and influence skills; ability to operate at senior levels in both written and verbal communications interacting professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
- Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
- Understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Improvement (CICD) and DevOps
- Strong experience in program governance, delivery and management
- Able to drive the process, cadence and ceremonies across Release Planning, Release Team Meetings, and Program Increments
- Strong proponent and practitioner of continuous improvement techniques including automation and self-service tools
- Demonstrated customer centric views and excellent expectation-management abilities
- Solid interpersonal skills; able to effectively organize & communicate with cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical skills; demonstrated experience in translating conceptual, sometimes ambiguous requirements from business owners into detailed business and functional requirements with an emphasis toward scalable and efficient global solutions
Desired Skills
- Second level Scrum Master Certification (PSM II, CSP)
- Experience playing the Scrum Master role for three-five years for a software development team.
- Knowledge of scaled agile frameworks such as the Scaled Agile Framework for the Enterprise (SAFe)
- Track record of continued and recent education, as a presenter and learner, in Agile and Scrum, including training, conferences, user groups, self-study, etc.
- Knowledge of other approaches discussed in the Agile space such as XP & Kanban
Preferred:
- SAFe certification
- Advanced PowerPoint skills
- Experience with: Big data technologies
- Understanding of Data sourcing, aggregation, transformations & data controls) and reporting/BI
