Antioch College invites applications for Director of Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and the position will remain open until filled or cancelled. This position replaces the job posting for Director of Strategic Initiatives and Business Development.
Essential Responsibilities of the Position:
- Provide staff support and implementation of strategic initiatives associated with the Antioch College Works program
- Work with the Business and Finance Office to develop a funding approach that supports the Antioch College Works Plan and the College’s financial model
- Work with President, Board, and College auxiliaries to identify partnerships central to the success of Antioch College Works and the College and coordinate in the stewardship of those relationships
- Collaborate with Communications team in the development of an integrated, strategic communications plan around the Antioch College Works program
- Cultivate, deepen and exemplify the practice of innovation strategy and design at and with Antioch College
- Leverage and help to better define the Five Areas of Practice platforms at Antioch College (i.e., Sustainability; Deliberative Democracy, Diversity, and Social Justice; Wellbeing; Creativity and Story; Work, World, and Resilient Community)
- Engage College constituents in projects and initiatives leading to new and increased revenue streams
- Evaluate initiatives for potential, alignment with strategic vision, and ROI/ROI-Social Responsibility
- Direct the implementation of strategic initiatives in support of the College’s vision for Antioch@175
- Coordinate and organize opportunities for increased revenue development during the block terms and open campus times, working with Office of Academic Affairs and other College leaders
- Develop policies and processes for cross institutionally planning and implementing campus events
- Facilitate the Logistics group and work of logistics coordination across campus, in partnership with event organizers
- Develop appropriate evaluation methods and metrics for auxiliaries and strategic initiatives
- Accomplish work in ways that honors shared governance and develops capabilities and potentials of individuals and groups on campus
- Offer workshops and programming on innovation, design-thinking and entrepreneurship
- Serve as a member of the logistics and operations team
- Manage business development and operational leadership of the auxiliaries (i.e., Glen Helen Nature Preserve, Wellness Center)
- Work in conjunction with the Finance Office, Glen Helen and the Wellness Center in the development and management of the auxiliaries’ budgets, including overhead expectations, and to increase opportunities for revenue generation in support of the College
- Perform duties as requested by the Vice President of Business and Operations
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree, MFA in design or MBA preferred, and 5 years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of experience with related responsibilities
- Proof of accomplishment in the innovative generation of revenue streams
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple teams to successful results
- Demonstrated experience organizing self and others by implementing and utilizing technology in support of operational expectations
- Experience in higher education preferred

Required Physical Abilities:
- Position works extensively in an office environment; seated for up to two hours at a time
- Utilization of standard office equipment such as networked computers, telephones, copiers, fax machines
- Ability to keyboard for up to two hours at a time
- Requirement to move around campus, indoors and outdoors, over paved and rough terrain in all weather
- Requirement to travel by car, airplane, or other forms of public transport in support of Antioch needs
Environmental Considerations:
- Indoor office environment; heated and cooled institutionally
- Movement around campus and during travel during weather extremes
