We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Director of Sanctions Compliance to support our sanctions compliance services area. Our team is looking for a Director level leader to drive sustainable and scalable solutions for a complex sanctions and compliance programs. This role will come with a background in international trade arena and sanctions and create streamline processes, compliance scope and audit engagements across multiple online service’s offerings. As the Director of Sanctions Compliance, you will work directly with our client team channeling inquiries and providing guidance while offering resolution to key stakeholders.
Our ideal candidate must be a self-starter, be able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, own deliverables end to end, prioritize workload effectively and thrive in a dynamic environment. This individual must also work well under pressure to meet ongoing and overlapping deadlines with short time constraints and the added gravity of client SLA’s while leading teams with varying numbers of analysts and researchers.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversight, execution, and management of internal and external business goals related to sanctions compliance in international trade
- Build strong program-level practices to support scalable and repeatable efforts
- Customer and internal engagements for ad hoc compliance support
- Manage a measurable data governance framework with a focus on data quality improvements, process improvements and data security needs
- Define roles and responsibilities related to risk intelligence analysis and trade research which also ensure clear accountability
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholder groups to make decisions about data needs and optimal solutions
- Manage resource assignment and prioritization of work for multiple project requests in support of our service offerings
- Earn trust through regular communication with senior management on status, risks and change control
- Hire, develop and mentor a team of risk analysts, program managers and trade researchers
- Ability to quickly ramp up on new technologies with a keen eye for detail and willingness to deep dive
Qualifications:
- Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams
- A passion for deeply understanding customer needs and enabling business
- Independently driven, resourceful, and able to deliver results with various levels of direction
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with developers, business owners, and senior business leaders
- 8+ years’ experience in sanctions compliance, money laundering & enhanced due diligence
- 12+ years’ experience in Program Management
- 5+ years of Management experience
- Should possess a strong understanding of how data is used to build business cases
- Experience using data driven business cases to direct and manage resources and requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Global Policy, or equivalent work experience is preferred
- PMP (Project Management Professional) are preferred but not required.
- Basic awareness and experience working with information and data governance
