Position Summary:

Excel is seekinga Director of Business Intelligence to support the Company’s corporatemarketing functions including brand marketing, property sponsorship sales andtalent endorsements. The Business Intelligence position will establish andmaintain data-backed strategic decision-making and associated processes. The role will be critical in providing realtime business insights and supporting data to key stakeholders in order toanalyze strategic opportunities with Excel’s corporate clients.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leveragedata and analytics to provide recommendations that drive sales growth, developmentand breakthrough ideas/activation;
  • Employ qualitative and quantitativereasoning to provide strategic business insights, data validation and reportingto assist management in key strategic decision-making;
  • Supportkey business functions:
  • BrandMarketing – Sponsorship measurement approach/strategy; valuation of brandactivation, data / research sourcing and insights; client-specific strategicanalysis projects;
  • Property/ Talent sales – Source, interpret and analyze data that helps to advancecorporate sales and strategy; oversee in-depth valuation studies on behalf ofcompany clients;
  • Overseeall third-party research and data inputs from market vendors, including syndicatedand customized data;
  • Driveand conduct research analysis for relevant business units;
  • Supportmanagers in data interpretation and business strategy;
  • Inpartnership with the Director of Marketing Solutions, support businessdevelopment pitches and help identify respective sales leads based on dataanalysis;
  • Conductassessments to ensure the organization maintains a pulse on the market and isleveraging the right data sources and technology to enhance our competitiveadvantage;
  • Proactively identify business insights,trends and opportunities through data analysis, and work with business leadersto find strategic solutions;
  • Lead interaction withbusiness function leaders and managers to leverage BI function internally andexternally; organize and conduct training sessions with the team on BI tools andresources;
  • Conductpredictive analysis, modeling and data visualization;
  • Allother duties as assigned.


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required;
  • Minimum6 years of direct, relevant work experience, preferably in disciplines such asbusiness intelligence, analytics, research or relevant data driven supportroles;
  • Experienceworking in a brand marketing or sponsorship-related role, leveraging data todrive brand marketing, sales or sponsorship decisions;
  • Proventrack record as a project management lead in both an internal and client-facingcapacity;
  • Strong quantitative analysis, problemsolving and presentation skills;
  • Familiarity with statistical tools(e.g. SAS) and dashboard visualization tools (e.g. Tableau).

  • Deepunderstanding of specific sports and entertainment trends to be leveraged forcorporate clients’ competitive advantage;
  • Ability to transform data intodigestible and presentable stories;
  • Superior organization and ability tomanage projects through to completion;
  • Strong interpersonal skills andability to effectively communicate to a wide range of audiences, both writtenand verbally;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced, team environment while maintaining a strong attention to detail;
  • High level of commitment to qualitywork product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance;
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter with theability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision;
  • Stronganalytical and creative thinker who can solve problems and tell an actionablestory from the numbers;
  • Extremelyproficient in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel;
  • Mustremain consistently up to date on research, data and analytics trends andthird-party resources;
  • Highlyresponsive and accessible;
  • Abilityto work both collaboratively as well as autonomously;
  • Abilityto travel as needed on a limited basis.
