Port leadership recently created its first Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (OEDI). The Office is charged with ensuring that equity goals and objectives are incorporated throughout Port operations and providing strategic and policy direction on equity issues. The Office is led by a Senior Director of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, who is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and reports directly to the Executive Director.

The Program Manager of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion operates as advisor, embedded deeply in the business, who consults on the needs of the organization and designs relevant solutions. You will work closely with the Port’s Aviation Division, executives, management and Human Resources partners to provide thoughtful leadership, manage the business relationship, and set and execute on initiatives to help the Aviation division make progress to diversity and inclusion goals. You are the face of the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion to the business, cascading Equity and Inclusion recommendations and services and identifying the client’s unique needs to effectively customize.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
This list is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY, and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and duties performed. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Project and Change Management

Oversee integration of equity practices into all aspects of the Aviation Division’s work, including:

  • Planning and programs
  • Policy development and decision making
  • Budgeting
  • Day-to-day operations
  • Share progress/learning and coordinate with colleagues leading other equity initiatives within OEDI.
  • Develop and operationalize diversity and inclusion plans that enables clients and businesses to progress on goals. Lead execution of Inclusion strategy for designated for Aviation Division.
  • Partner and build strong relationships within the business and across Human Resources, particularly HR Business Partners to understand business priorities and needs.
  • Develop recommendations, performance metrics, policies, and processes in support of ongoing equity work internally.
  • Build a strong team of change agents from across teams in Aviation who help to move equity forward into systems

Technical Assistance

  • As part of Port-wide system change work, provide guidance, technical support and quality assurance.
  • Develop, manage and make available relevant information/knowledge, tools, frameworks, and other technical resources.
  • Provide equity coaching, training and technical assistance support to build staff and management capacity internally.
  • Secure and deploy consultant resources to support technical assistance, as needed.
  • Serve as subject matter expert to the Aviation Division on embedding equity into internal operations.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting

  • Conduct and apply equity-minded evaluations and analysis, using both qualitative and quantitative data, internal and community-facing, to guide course corrections and ongoing implementation.
  • Prepare performance dashboards, other regular performance reports, and summarize results and interpretations of findings for a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:
Combination of education and experience demonstrating knowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to:

  • Bachelor’s degree; and
  • One to Two (1-2) years of experience in strategic planning and system-level change management in public sector organization(s) or in aviation organizational systems.
