The Marketplace Management/Brand Control Director will lead a team of marketplace analysts with brand control expertise. You are a change manager. You understand the challenges of gray market selling and you know that reactive approaches have limited success. The Director will act as a seasoned advisor to brands, create buy-in for robust brand control strategies, and advise brands on how to remap distribution chains for success on Amazon.


Key Responsibilities:

The team of Marketplace Analysts support several key aspects related to our brand partnerships, including:

  • Monitoring data related to e-commerce marketplace listings
  • Measuring the effectiveness of brand strategies including standard key performance indicators
  • Brand-facing communication and a key part of the account management team
  • Providing data and analysis to support business development due diligence
  • Identifying challenges and working with teams to find solutions

The Brand Control Director will support Marketplace Analysts on:

  • Team management
  • Defining a consultative approach to engaging with branded manufacturers on distribution practices that support brand control including assessment, analysis, strategy, and execution
  • Provide thought leadership on the topic of e-commerce brand control
  • Highly focused on improving specific key performance metrics
  • Drive best practices across team members
  • Coaching the team on communication, analysis, reporting, and decision-making
  • Continuously improve current standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Lead the development of new processes as needed
  • Report to senior leaders on key performance metrics related to marketplace analysis


Basic Qualifications:

  • Working with senior teams on the business case for change
  • Client based consulting experience presenting to senior leadership teams
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Experience working with senior level cross-functional teams on strategy
  • Excellent coach and team leader
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Able to work in a fast paced and collaborative e-commerce environment
  • Ability to work independently and actively participate within teams
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and work cross-functionally with a wide range of employees with different skill sets


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of professional experience managing a team
  • Experience helping brands control grey market distribution on Amazon
  • An understanding of e-commerce economics
  • Working with senior teams on change management
