The Director of Information Technology (IT) is responsible for the development and implementation of True Rx’s IT infrastructure to ensure the continued ability to provide excellent customer service. As the True Rx IT infrastructure leader, this individual will be responsible for conducting short- and long-term strategic planning to ensure the functionality and integrity of True Rx systems. The Director will be responsible for working with all True Rx departments, as well as external customers when necessary to determine current and future IT needs. Knowledge and experience with both network administration, programming, (SQL, VBA, etc.), and project management will be necessary to succeed in this position.


Principle Roles and Responsibilities

  • Participate in strategic planning to ensure a thorough understanding of the business and strategies for growth to prepare IT’s alignment with the overall goals of True Rx in the short and long term
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of business processes and technical solutions
  • Ensure compliance with all appropriate federal and state guidelines with regards to True Rx data storage and transmission
  • Forge strong working relationships with leaders across the organization as a resource for all IT related needs
  • Leads the IT team to:
    • Troubleshoot and evaluate current network requirements and explore improvements to meet the organization’s needs
    • Coordinates the installation and maintenance of network infrastructure including cabling, switches, hubs, routers, servers, and ancillary items
    • Monitor and optimize LAN/WAN performance
    • Monitors adequacy of telephone and data lines and systems
    • Resolves network problems
    • Evaluates user requests for network services to determine feasibility, cost, time required, and compatibility with current systems.
    • Coordinates and/or implements firewall and router security and routing configurations
    • Maintains knowledge of current network protocols and technologies.
    • Administer and maintain Active Directory, Domain Controllers, File Servers, Storage Area Networks, Mail Servers, etc.
    • Administer and maintain Firewalls, VPN’s, Routers, Switches, etc.
    • Administer and maintain Anti-virus, Anti-Spam and Anti-Phishing filters and Content Filtering Appliances
    • Administer Web Services, including the purchasing and maintaining of web servers, Domain Names and SSL Certificates
    • Administer and manage databases on various database server platforms\
    • Administer and manage cloud shared services
    • Develop warehouses of data by integrating and synchronizing data from the various server platforms and applications to create a common database warehouse and database design for new applications and generating reports for existing applications
    • Create, schedule, and verify SQL jobs, Stored Procedures and Scripts, including the creation of maintenance jobs that perform database functions to backup/restore, optimize, re-index SQL databases, synchronize data between servers, databases and applications and/or generate reports.
  • Develops and manages a budget to facilitate the best return on IT investment
    • Tracks and analyzes IT costs
    • Monitors trends, costs, and performance of vendors.
    • Demonstrates appropriate leadership skills and initiative including staff development and training, guidance, evaluation, discipline, promotion, and termination
    • Manage Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plan equipment needs and requirements.
    • Deploy new technologies as they become available
    • Perform additional tasks as assigned
    • Drive simplification and innovation across the organization
    • Develop and maintain a technology road map which paves the way for continuous improvement and growth

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science or related degree)
  • 5 years or more related experience and/or training
  • Experience and training in the following areas:
    • Network Administration
    • Programming
    • Project Management

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate – all conversation must be kept at a low level in order to not interfere with customer service telephone conversations. Personal visiting during break periods is allowed outside of the work areas.


Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands and fingers and type for up to eight hours in a workday. Employee is required to stand and/or walk for short periods of time and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
