The Director of Information Systems reports to the Chief Operations Officer and is responsible for providing leadership and oversight for the design, implementation and maintenance of Wedgwood’s information technology and telecommunication systems. Job functions include planning, budgeting, procuring, ensuring that systems and software are properly installed and operating effectively; providing oversight for network security, HIPAA security, software license compliance, system back-up/disaster recovery plans; and supervising the work of the Senior Network Engineer, IT Specialist/Technician, Systems Analyst/Programmer and independent contractors.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science is required.
  • A minimum of five years of related experience providing support and oversight for an organization’s information systems is required. Working knowledge and experience with Windows 2008 Server, SQL Server, VMWare, Cisco IP Telephony, Citrix, Office 365 and/or related technology is desired.
  • Prior experience in a mental health, medical, or related setting is preferred.
  • Subscription to Wedgwood Christian Services statement of faith and agreement with the goals, purpose, and objectives of the agency.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing leadership and oversight for the design, implementation and maintenance of Wedgwood’s information technology and telecommunication systems.
  • Tasks including but not limited to planning, budgeting, procuring, ensuring that systems and software are properly installed and operating effectively; providing oversight for network security, HIPAA security, software license compliance, and system back-up/disaster recovery plans.
  • Works in close communication, partnership and support of the agency’s programs and administrative departments and with members of Wedgwood’s administrative leadership team in formulating and recommending information technology solutions
  • Establishes, implements, and maintains standards, policies and procedures for the development and use of computer, printing and copying systems; assures economical and efficient operations and utilization of personnel and equipment.
  • Provides for disaster recovery and system back-up planning and verification. Ensures regular testing of procedures and monitoring systems.
  • Supervises the work of the Senior Network Administrator as they manage the various component parts of Wedgwood’s information technology infrastructure, telecommunication systems (including voicemail, cell phones, local and long distance phone services), and disaster recovery and system back-up processes and procedures.
  • Supervises the work of the IT Specialist/Network Technician’s and independent contractors in the procurement, installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of computer and telecommunication equipment and software solutions.
  • Participates in staff hiring; provides for staff performance evaluations using agency disciplinary processes as necessary in consultation with the Chief Executive Officer and the Human Resource Department.
  • Works collaboratively with agency partners and contracting agencies to maximize technological efficiency.
  • Serves as Wedgwood’s Corporate Security Officer, ensuring organizational compliance with HIPAA, WAN security and software licensing requirements. Provides staff with ongoing training around agency security standards; verifies physical security of computers and information. Develops and enforces new-hire security setups and staff termination procedures.
  • Researches trends in the computer industry and makes recommendations regarding hardware and software that would be beneficial to the agency. Keeps abreast of the latest offerings and opportunities in telecommunications and makes recommendations regarding desirable changes.
  • Responsible for facilitating the process of tracking and monitoring utilization and outcome data, including quarterly reporting for the all agency report card.
  • Responsible for timely Quality Assurance compliance as related to employee’s roles and functions.
