Job Description:
The ABM Enterprise Service Center is a fast-paced, transaction processing unit for the ABM group of companies. This position will manage the collection team work closely with the cash applications team to insure proper application of payments. Make B2B collection calls. This group handles the collections for multiple divisions within the company. Candidates for this position must have excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.

Essential Duties

  • Manage a team of 3 Supervisors and 11 Collection Specialists
  • Interviewing and hiring staff members
  • Providing training, creating work schedule, approving time-sheets and disciplinary actions.
  • Work closely with outside collection agencies
  • Collaborates with team members to identify need areas and drive process improvements
  • Manage aging reports and reconcile accounts receivable statements as necessary
  • Manage portfolio of receivable within company goals and help to manage key reporting controls
  • Work closely with management in leading process improvement efforts
  • Follow-up on customer complaints to resolve credit disputes and issues when appropriate
  • Interact with sales teams to assist with service and support for customers
  • Address customer complaints concerning billing or service rendered and complaints of service failures with designated departments
  • Manage special projects concerning collections
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related fields preferred
  • Minimum five (5) years management experience in collecting, accounts receivable or a related area
  • This position requires good written, oral and reading communication skills for the incumbent to accurately obtain, interpret and transcribe a variety of communications and instructions
  • Two years’ experience in, using JD Edwards or another ERP system
  • Conceptual understanding of the credit-through-collections process
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office for Windows (Outlook, Word, and Excel) is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to adjust and interact with all levels of personnel
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Must be able to work overtime as necessary
