The Skating Director oversees and coordinates the Learn to Skate program, which includes both
basic skills skating classes and specialty classes for skaters interested in competitive skating and
other skating programs of the iFiber Rink at the Town Toyota Center. This position provides
customer service to all registered attendees and their families, and provides strategic direction for
new classes and/or methods in ice skating sessions in collaboration with the Rink Manager, the
Town Toyota Center management team, and the Wenatchee Figure Skating Club.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
- Provide general ice-skating instruction for Learn to Skate classes and other specialty
skating classes
- Supervise and mentor junior coaches (volunteer skaters helping with LTS classes):
o Mentor, assist in hiring, provide feedback and termination as necessary, for Learn
to Skate coaches in collaboration with the Rink Manager
o Working in collaboration with the Town Toyota Center’s Admin and Rink Manager,
ensure all paperwork is completed and up-to-date including applications, Learn to
Skate coach registration, USFS background checks and SafeSport compliancy
o Ensure coaches follow all Town Toyota Center policies and procedures, including
dress code.
- Oversee the training of the coaches including:
o Train all new on-ice staff with respect to on-ice program delivery and curriculum
o Assist in organizing training sessions for coaches
- Work towards increasing registrations for all ice-skating classes and programs
o Work in collaboration with the Town Toyota Center’s Rink Manager to ensure
enrollment and transition from classes occur each session
- Serve as an ambassador for Learn to Skate classes and ice-skating programs
- Ensure a successful skating program which results in engaged skaters and program
growth.
o Maintain a strong working relationship with the Wenatchee Figure Skating Club
and all user groups to ensure continual growth in the skating programs
- Keep up-to-date with figure skating industry trends
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment for all skaters
- Assist in tasks as needed
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Member of US Figure Skating Association
Member of the Professional Skaters Association
- Hold coaches’ liability insurance with $1,000,000
- Demonstrate continuing education
- Yearly background check
- Credentials up-to-date
- Strong sense of teamwork, prioritization and self-motivation
- At least five (5) years of responsible teaching experience at all skating levels
- Enthusiastic, friendly, courteous
- Must have good oral and written communication skills
- Must have the ability to work nights and weekends
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
- Ability to offer figure skating coaching lessons to ice skaters up to Senior Moves in the
Field and Freestyle several days a week within the Town Toyota Center complex
- Ability to choreograph and direct ice-skating shows and competition throughout the year
including individual, small group and large group numbers

SALARY: $30,000 DOE. Independent Contractor. No Benefits.
