Epiq is seeking an experienced Product & software development leader for its AACER business. This leader will possess demonstrated ability to define & deliver Enterprise SaaS products to market, with expertise in modern data-centric cloud computing services, document management systems, API-based data extraction & exchange, AI and machine learning. The role is a split between traditional enterprise software product management and software engineering management. The role spans strategic and tactical responsibilities from product management, design, capabilities analysis and prioritization, product roadmap alignment with business strategy, while at the same time leadership in Agile software development methodology, architecture and overall engineering team ownership. This position interacts with a combination of business stakeholders, Customers, prospects and channel partners. The role requires strong communication skills, deep technical skills and a passion for solving business problems for massive markets. The role also represents the most senior technology leader on the team.
Essential Functions and Job Scope
- Own delivery of the product vision and roadmap in close alignment with the business strategic plan.
- Own product design, development & implementation.
- Accountable for Client experience and service delivery to the Clients and/or end-users and, related, achieving business goals including incremental revenue and margin growth, customer retention, etc.
- Provide overall vision and direction on product strategy & software architecture to meet objectives, lead teams turning strategy into compelling user experience and features, including back-end functionality, and ensure implementation of effective software & team development and governance processes.
- Lead business and project teams to ensure requirements are effectively prioritized, while managing scope and executing product delivery.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, channel partners, market influencers and Clients for research and new product definitions.
- Perform competition, market trend, technology, business model and other analyses.
- Provide outside-in market perspective to drive strategic product and business model direction in alignment with business strategy to address such needs and market opportunities.
- Own business case definition, justification and validation.
- Lead product release and launch activities working closely with marketing to ensure an effective messaging strategy and communications plan is executed, with accountability for product adoption.
- Develop and improve standards and practices in the establishment of a best in class business programs for both the Product and the software engineering teams.
- Lead and manage product organization, including coaching, performance management, objective setting and measurement, conflict management, etc.
- Lead and manage 3rd party software and associated relationships.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience directly engaging core markets and creating deliverables with the mix of stakeholders while uncovering real requirements, business problems and effectively working with the team to execute technology based solutions.
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated leadership and management of an Enterprise product management function
- Demonstrated leadership and direct management of software engineering function
- 10+ years’ demonstrated product management experience bringing SaaS products from vison, feature definition and value purpose to market or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated strong ability to engage & communicate with clients, business and technical stakeholders and resources.
- Ideal candidate will have successfully defined & delivered SaaS products operating in the ‘cloud’.
- Ideal candidate will have delivered SaaS products integrating machine learning & artificial intelligence to drive customer value and automate processes
- Ideal candidate will possess experience in the legal services and or financial services industry.
- Excellent collaboration, verbal and written communication, analytical and organizational skills.
- Strong visual design sense and commitment to usability – UI/UX design collaboration.
- Ability to effectively influence and drive multiple product development projects in a fast paced and dynamic environment under tight timelines.
- Solid demonstrated adoption and leadership of software development life cycle and Agile /Scrum development methodologies.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or a closely related technical field; MS, MBA or other advanced degree a plus.
