The DSA (Delivery Stream Architect) is a leader who can effectively foster an environment of trust, collaboration, and high-performance. This person must knock down technical, cultural, or organizational impediments, mentor lead technical staff, and collaborate with other architecture and engineering leaders to develop a healthy organization.
As a member of the Delivery Stream leadership team, the DSA works with counterparts in Engineering and Product Management to define, plan, and execute the product engineering work for their Delivery Stream, with a focus on guiding the architecture of the software and solutions towards the architectural vision. The DSA collaborates with stakeholders across the company to ensure that the solutions delivered meet both business and technical objectives and are aligned with the long-term technology roadmap.
Reporting to the AVP of Architecture for the Portfolio Group, the DSA is a part of the broader CAI-wide architecture practice, and participates in developing prescriptive patterns, standards, and target-state architectures for the enterprise.
The DSA and the Release Train Architects that are a part of his / her team will play a strategic leadership role in guiding engineering teams toward next-generation architecture and engineering capabilities, including but not limited to:
- Designing Cloud Native applications leveraging AWS services
- Leveraging appropriate architecture patterns and best practices
- Building secure, scalable and resilient software systems
- Serve as the Architecture leader for the Delivery Stream, in partnership with Product, Engineering, and Business leadership
- Set the Delivery Stream architectural direction, long-term vision, and guiding principles
- Frame technical or architectural alternatives in business terms, clearly articulating both business and technical implications of various options
- Champion sound architectural solutions and effectively advocate for them at an executive level
- Manage technical debt and risk; work with Product and Engineering in establishing appropriate risk/debt management practices
- Drive creation, adoption and reuse of enterprise technology assets
- Manage a team of Release Train architects, who provide architectural stewardship for the software products delivered by the Delivery Stream
Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience in the implementation of structured design and architecture processes in a corporate environment.
- 5+ years leadership experience, preferably in roles of incrementally increasing responsibility
- Deep understanding of the architecture discipline, processes, concepts and best practices
- Experience with cloud-native architectures or compatible architecture patterns
- Demonstrated proficiency in at least three of the following areas: business architecture, application architecture, data architecture, technical/infrastructure architecture, security disciplines, or operational disciplines.
- Exemplary soft skills and a track record of applying these skills as a practicing architect. Outstanding verbal and written communication, presentation, facilitation, and interaction skills, including ability to effectively communicate architectural issues and concepts to multiple organization levels.
- Great time management and a passion for delivering on commitments.
- Understanding and experience in development and project management processes and agile methodologies.
- Proven leadership, influence, and mentoring skills.
- Knowledge of the Automotive industry
- Knowledge of Financial/Banking industry
