Special Olympics Utah (SOUT) is seeking a dynamic leader for the position of President and CEO. The President and CEO is responsible for strategic leadership, operational management, fundraising, budget/financial management, and advocacy for Special Olympics Utah.

As the CEO, his/her primary function is to successfully guide and direct the Program in accordance with the standards, policies and procedures set forth by Special Olympics Inc. and the Special Olympics Utah Board of Directors. The CEO reports directly to the Board of Directors and is expected to maintain a close working relationship with the Chairperson.

Candidates should have a genuine passion for Special Olympics’ mission and the vision, skills, expertise and drive to lead the organization to the next level: improving the quality and growth of the Program and increasing the engagement of the greater Utah community in support of the inclusion of, and opportunities for, people with intellectual disabilities.

The candidate should have a strong track record of success in revenue creation, financial management, organizational management, and Board relations at one or more non-profit or for-profit organizations. 

The CEO role is a full-time exempt position based out of the SOUT Headquarters in Salt Lake City, UT. Frequent in state and occasional out of state travel required.

Special Olympics Utah is a statewide, nonprofit organization that offers year-round sport training and competition opportunities, health education and screening, school-based and community inclusion initiatives, and leadership opportunities children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Hundreds of volunteers support the 1,700 athletes currently served throughout Utah. SOUT has a small staff and a current annual revenue of approximately $1M. SOUT is part of the global organization, Special Olympics International.

Salary: $75,000.00 to $85,000.00 /year
