NUTRITION AND WELLNESS DIRECTOR – SENIOR SOLUTIONS

Supervisor: Executive Director

General Description: Planning, development and implementation of community based nutrition, wellness and transportation services funded by Senior Solutions, an Area Agency on Aging. Provide on-going technical assistance to local service providers for quality assurance and conformance to State and Federal requirements.

Responsibilities include:

— Oversees all site menus ensuring that nutrition standards are followed.

— Oversees the 3SquaresVt (SNAP) outreach program including quarterly required state reporting.

— Oversees Wellness Evidence Based programs offered directly by Senior Solutions.

— Participates in the planning for transportation services, especially those that meet the needs of the most frail in the community.

— Assisting with agency wide planning to ensure above services are integrated into the annual plan and budget of Senior Solutions.

— Establishes new meal, wellness and transportation initiatives as appropriate within budgetary constraints.

— Writes, monitors and evaluates all nutrition related contracts. Ensures compliance with Federal and State regulations.

— Hires and trains contracted direct service staff related to nutrition or wellness programs.

— Arranges and coordinates training for staff involved in nutrition or wellness programs as well as arranging nutrition education programs for all participants in the meals programs.

— Writes and monitors contracts including approval for payment within an established budget.

— Writes grants for nutrition and wellness activities.

— Negotiates, monitors and evaluates all transportation related contracts.

Additional activities:

— Participates in Statewide Nutrition Directors meetings.

— Attends appropriate regional transportation meetings.

— Establishes new meal, wellness or transportation initiatives as appropriate.

Qualifications:

— Bachelors degree required. Prefer degree or experience in nutrition, public health, business management or human service administration,

–Ability to work cooperatively with a wide variety of people and organizations.

— Highly organized, ability to think about systems creatively,

— Willingness to do extensive on -the-job travel

— Strong oral, written and computer communication skills
