Position: Executive Director
Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours/week, Full Time

Job Summary:
The Executive Director is responsible for all operations of Metro Work Center, Inc. including ensuring compliance with all licensing requirements and grant requirements. The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring compliance with all policies of the organization as approved by the Metro Work Center Board of Directors. The Executive Director serves as the Metro Work Center liaison with the Twin Cities and Minnesota community serving the community of adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, community organizations, volunteers, business and healthy provider communities and any other individuals or organizations assigned by the MWC Board. This person is responsible to the Board of Directors.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- With the MWC Board, develop the business plan, financial plan and manage the annual and day to day financial operational plan of MWC.
- Recruit, hire, train, discipline, retain and evaluate staff. Ensure consistent application of the agency human resources processes.
- Manage the daily activities and priorities of MWC and its staff and volunteers and compliance to policies and procedures.
- Manage the relationships and work plans agreed to with Minnesota Department of Human Services and Hennepin County.
- With the MWC Board, create and communicate a compelling vision for the organization and opportunities for promotion of MWC.
- Establish and maintain relationships to enhance the visibility and success of MWC with the DT&H community (Minnesota Organization for Habilitation and Rehabilitation, etc.), contractual partners (Department of Human Services, Hennepin County, etc.), community organizations and resources, funding resources, and the local business community.
- Maintain a marketing, communication and visibility plan for MWC.
- Serve as an advocate for those in the ID/DD community and assist individuals to achieve their full potential in MWC and the broader community.
- Secure additional funding as needed and available. Through grants, fundraising, etc.
- Ensure integrity and quality of programs and services through quality improvement, licensing and internal monitoring processes. Oversee preparation for all program audits and contracts.
- Ensure fiscal viability of program through effective use and management of MWC resources.
- Oversee the payroll process and knowledge of accounting practices.
- Attend quarterly Board Meetings.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Manage miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks as needed.
- Other Duties as Assigned.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree preferred or bachelor’s degree and equivalent experience (Required)
- Knowledge of Day Training and Habilitation programming (245D requirements) for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities including a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership of an organization or major role within an organization with a minimum of 3-5 years of successful leadership as an executive or senior manager.
- Demonstrated experience in partnering with other external organizations and building relationships with other organizations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of standard business, payroll, and accounting practices.
- Knowledge of or experience with other segments of the Twin Cities community including transition programs, residential resources, healthcare, social services, and other community organizations/resources.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and relevant abilities working with and engaging in service delivery or community outreach with diverse populations.
- Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication.
- Maintaining and passing a background check required by DHS is a condition of employment.
- Maintaining financial credibility – check signer – is a condition of employment.
