The Social Center of Excellence Director will help modernize an iconic brand and deepen Allstate’s connections with consumers and other stakeholders. We’re looking for a passionate and creative storyteller, strategic thinker, and skilled leader with a track record of managing and growing social engagement with a consistent voice. A deep understanding of social voice, tone and style is essential. The successful candidate will focus on designing an engaging social strategy, exceptional customer service, data-driven campaign development and collaborative leadership that supports testing new ideas.

The leader will work seamlessly with partners inside and outside the company, driving efficient and effective processes while being nimble in a test-and-learn environment. The team will conceive and execute groundbreaking social media programs that promote engagement, strengthen relationships and increase brand awareness, relevance and consideration


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership of social programs, budget and resources across the social media portfolio.
  • Develop a high-performing team of social program managers and digital intelligence leaders focused on managing Allstate’s social and digital presence and developing social experiences that enhance Allstate’s consumer engagement and consideration.
  • Help refresh Allstate’s social media vision and strategy based on an in-depth understanding of market conditions, consumer preferences, emerging technologies, social media metrics and relevant digital trends. Enhance Allstate’s digital capabilities and increase Allstate’s brand relevance.
  • Define the strategy and collaborate to develop dynamic marketing programs that activate consumers and encourage repeated visits, making the Allstate digital footprint a daily resource for stakeholder engagement.
  • Drive social listening capabilities to gain stakeholder insights, identify and respond to customer issues, enhance performance of existing programs, provide a voice for the consumer, drive operational improvements, and increase knowledge-sharing with internal partners.
  • Grow brand advocacy through robust and relevant blogger and social influencer outreach.
  • Develop and grow partnerships with media companies, creative agencies and social media thought leaders to help grow a relevant social footprint.

Job Qualifications
Expertise
  • Social media experience with a Fortune 500 company with significant digital presence.
  • 10+ years of experience in multifaceted digital marketing within corporate, PR/communications, marketing; specifically, 4+ years focused on social media.
  • Experience aligning customer service with proactive social media strategies and driving meaningful engagement across touchpoints.
  • Ability to run a social media discipline within an organization, including fostering team growth and development, and handling agency/vendor sourcing and management, budget administration and planning.
  • Astute understanding of the interplay between social and search for consumers and for companies.
  • Consumer-centric mindset and ability to use social media to establish and enhance meaningful relationships with consumers, deliver useful content and drive growth.
  • Ability to understand data, analyze results, draw insights and conclusions, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Expertise in communications and storytelling, with an ability to teach and champion social media best practices.
Leadership
  • A track record of driving social strategies across mainstream and emerging social technologies to achieve measurable business results.
  • Ability to lead a sizable, diverse digital team.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
Change Agent
  • A healthy sense of urgency; enthusiasm for experimentation, with experience in the innovate-iterate-improve cycle.
  • A passion for all things digital and an understanding of digital transformation and emerging technologies.
  • A collaborative approach to achieving business results and working across internal teams and with external partners.
Educational Background
  • Master’s degree preferred
