Bullis School seeks an innovative, energetic, and dedicated candidate for the role of Director of Entrepreneurship to steered the School’s Entrepreneurship Signature Program. Bullis offers planned courses of study in four signature program areas—Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), Entrepreneurship, Humanities and Global Studies and Visual and Performing Arts. The Signature Program model provides opportunities for interdisciplinary study, experiential education, research-based culminating/capstone experiences and student choice among curricular offerings.
The Director of Entrepreneurship develops and facilitates the integration of entrepreneurship education and best practices into the Bullis Entrepreneurship program. The Director serves as a facilitator and driver of the school’s mission to fully implement 21st century knowledge, skill-based and customized programs for each student in the area of entrepreneurship. This position works collaboratively with K-12 staff to plan, organize, direct, and implement entrepreneurship curriculum across all divisions. This includes organizing all educational services, training activities, and instructional resources necessary to identify, measure and implement student outcomes and instill curiosity and learning in entrepreneurship teaching and learning.
The Director is responsible for establishing and maintaining partnerships within and outside the community to enhance curriculum, professional development, and research. This position is also responsible for securing funding sources to continually grow the K-12 Entrepreneurship program. The Director will also be responsible for teaching up to three courses per academic year, including the 12th grade Entrepreneurship Capstone.
This position is an eleven-month position. Eleven-month staff generally work from August 1 to June 30 (with all days off during the school year when school is not in session) with twenty days off each summer that may be used anytime between June 15 and August 15, pending supervisor approval.
This position may also serve as the Department Chair for the Upper School Entrepreneurship Department.
Qualified candidates should possess the following education & experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (required)
- Master’s Degree (preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience teaching in business, finance, or entrepreneurship
- Demonstrated leadership, flexibility and creativity in decision-making and program development
- Prior experience directing an educational program
- Commitment to diversity and inclusion
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others
- Skill in implementing effective professional development activities
- Prioritize and execute a wide range of projects simultaneously
- Ability to work independently, assume responsibility, and take initiative in carrying out assignments
- Skill in communicating effectively both orally and in writing
- Teaching certificates are not required
