Title: Director of Clinical Services and Compliance
(Full-time days, M-F)

Location: Draper, UT

Summary: The Director of Clinical Services and Compliance is key leadership role for Alpine Home Medical and has direct and indirect responsibility over clinical duties/responsibilities as well as compliance issues for the Company. This role is responsible for training and development of staff members (including Respiratory Therapists), and overall clinical and compliance standards for the Company; as well as other key management responsibilities as assigned by senior management. The Director of CS&C must be able to drive results and meet established goals while fostering an environment of teamwork and cohesion. Must be able to effectively strategize and identify key industry trends and drive change (and compliance) sometimes “on the fly” and be a driver of high standards for excellence. This position also requires superior communication and leadership skills. Must be able to create short and long range plans and have effective time management skills. The Director of CS&C is an integral member of the executive management team.

Reports

To: President of Alpine Home Medical

Education and

Certification:

· Graduate of a NBRC approved Respiratory Therapist program and actively maintaining required continuing education per licensure requirements.

· Must be a Registered Respiratory Therapist with an unencumbered current license in the state of Utah. Licensing in Idaho, Arizona and Nevada would also be very helpful.

· Associates degree (or higher) required in Respiratory Therapy

· Experience in HME or related health care industry required…5+ years

Clinical Services

Responsibilities: The Director of CS&C performs clinical and administrative duties in a

management capacity. The role has oversight for coordinating and assisting

clinical staff (namely Respiratory Therapists) and all employees through

education, continuing training, and problem solving. Additional responsibilities

include:

· Supports respiratory staff through training and quarterly evaluations

· Acts as proactive clinical resource to all employees throughout the Company

· Ensures and helps drive patient care best practices; and functions to champion those best practices throughout the Company.

· Acts as a clinical liaison with referrals

· Develops, initiates and drives clinical programs for the Company

· Evaluates clinical effectiveness of equipment; and makes appropriate recommendations

· Implements effective care and service to patients/customers

Compliance

Responsibilities: The Director of CS&C ensures Company compliance with all established rules

and regulations mandated by federal, state, and accrediting agency(s) such as

CMS/NSC, FDA, Joint Commission and others. This is accomplished through

extensive research, compiling and analyzing key data points, enforcing Company

policies and procedure, and advising management. Additional items of

responsibility include:

· Travels to all branch locations and conducts regular internal audits

· Regularly compiles data and reporting; and shares findings with management

· Identifies areas of risk and develops/implements action plans for resolution

· Collaborates with other Company leaders in developing, updating and effectively implementing Company operating policies and procedures.

· Conducts and collaborates with employee training programs

· Acts as an independent reviewer ensuring issues/concerns are appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved.

· Administrative task of applying for and updating Company status with various agencies.

Experience/Knowledge/Personality:

· Previous experience in a leadership role managing with oversight of a large organization or staff

· 3-5 years management experience involving producing results through others required

· Demonstrated ability to consistently meet established metrics as a team leader.

· Demonstrated ability to coach employees to continuous improvement and performance management.

· Superior oral & written communication skills.

· Effective decision-making and troubleshooting skills.

· Ability to effectively lead and motivate employees to their best performance.

· Strong computer literacy skills

· Extensive clinical experience/knowledge of Respiratory therapy and compliance.

· Knowledge/experience with Medicare and Medicaid or other medical insurance requirements.

· Ability to function as a company leader demonstrating core values, positive attitude and “can do” approach.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality.
