The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is seeking an experienced Vice President of Construction, Facilities and Design. This position will oversee the zoo’s Construction Project Management Office, Maintenance, Horticulture, Art, Events and Grounds departments.
A bachelorâs degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or another relevant field is required with an MBA or masterâs degree preferred. Five years of executive leadership experience in construction, campus planning, design or facilities management is required. A deep technical knowledge in one or more of the areas of construction design, construction management or facilities planning and management is required. A strong general understanding of the remaining areas is also required.
Candidate must demonstrated a history of developing and managing substantial capital and operating budgets. Candidate must also have a history of managing complex projects to scope and within time and budget constraints.
Adaptability, exceptional customer service, maturity, integrity, excellent judgement and very strong communication and negotiation skills are required. Exceptional emotional intelligence and people skills are critical.
This is a physically demanding position that will be conducted in all weather conditions. Flexibility in the work schedule will be necessary to include weekend and holiday work.
This is a full-time, benefited, salaried position that will interface with Board members and will report to the CEO.
