Overview

Model Risk Management (MoRM) works globally with all business and infrastructure divisions. Our international team is located in Frankfurt, Berlin, London and New York. As the Model Validation Specialist in the Model Risk team you will be responsible for validating models under the supervision of the lead validator. You will be responsible for validating methods as well as ad-hoc preparation of complex statistical analyses, relationship management with regulators and supervisory authorities as well as Senior Management.

Your Role

What You’ll Do:

  • Complex analysis, evaluation & decision-making
  • Data processing
  • Development of very complex methods, processes or analyses as well as improvements
  • Management of large-scale (partial) projects in line with the assigned tasks
  • Relationship management
  • Support dealing with internal and external audit requests, including interaction with regulators & supervisory authorities

Skills You’ll Need:

  • Strong mathematical background, ideally in the field of statistics or financial mathematics
  • Strong IT /data management skills plus experience with relevant software packages, ideally Excel / VBA / MS Access / SQL / R /Python / SAS / C++
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English
  • Attention to detail, ability to ensure very high quality & consistency of reports produced
  • University degree (MSc) in Mathematics / Statistics / Physics

Skills That Will Help You Excel:

  • Specialist knowledge in quantification of credit risk, market risk and/or operational risk would be a plus
  • Highly analytical and structured thinking
  • Strong communication skills
  • Focused and self-motivated
  • Ability to work with both a high degree of independence & as part of a team across locations and liaise effectively at all levels
