The IS/IT Project Manager manages development or deployment IS/IT infrastructure projects to ensure they deliver expected value to the Business Partner, on time, on budget, on scope, on quality that may be clearly defined upfront or may require dynamic and iterative scoping, delivery and change management (agile project management). The position requires strong project management skills, the ability to collaborate effectively, provide insight around potential risks and opportunities, initiate resolutions, communicate effectively, and deliver results.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and administer IT infrastructure project plans and budgets; identify project goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, potential risks and mitigating plans and allocation of available resources; and communication.
  • Determine and manage project estimates and budgets and make purchasing decisions for project resources including internal and external staffing requirements, hardware, and software and vendor services.
  • Coordinate with management to ensure project scope and schedule are adhered to; ensure proposed changes are aligned with objectives and are conducted in accordance with agreed upon project change processes.
  • Support program and project reporting and documentation processes; deliver status reports and analysis for management on an on-going basis; track and resolve issues; escalate to management as necessary.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with key stakeholders to ensure project/program management processes are integrated; attend market-level functional project planning meetings as appropriate; provide IT project consulting for project request and initiation activities.

The primary candidate location is Arlington, VA or additionally St. Louis, MO.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Education
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or relevant work/military experience is preferred.

Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in project or program management across functions and/or organizations in a matrixed organization is required
  • 1+ years of experience within an IS/IT environment is preferred
  • Experience with some leadership responsibilities
  • Experience managing change/transitions and change impacts
  • Experience with effective communication at different levels in the organization and in English
  • Experience working with virtual teams
  • Agile project management experience
