Full Job Description
The Accounts Payable Manager manages Corporate Accounts Payable department staff, including Vendor Master Relations, Customer Service, and AP Disbursement Group which handle all disbursements, 1099 and tax related matters for three divisions. Organizes work processes, methods and procedures for processing accounts payable EDI transactions. Oversees special projects/reconciliations to ensure closure in an accurate and timely manner. Reports to Director of Accounts Payable.
Essential Functions :
- Evaluates, develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures, and policies including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
- Serves as A/P Department coordinator for updates, upgrades, improvements and testing of SAP A/P software and ancillary A/P systemsâ software used by A/P staff throughout Kindred at Home. Works closely with the I/S Development Departments.
- Supervises, coaches, trains and evaluates Accounts Payable staff in vendor payments, EDI transactions, reconciliations, governmental and external reporting, researching and communicating on information requests, and maintaining positive vendor relations.
- Manages monthly closing of financial records and posting of month end information; ensures accuracy of monthly accruals.
- Responds to request from inside and outside the company (employees, vendors and facilities).
- Ensures staff operates within established procedures, and submits recommendations for changes to improve efficiency.
- Maintains up-to-date technical knowledge of accounts payable system and function.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, Management, or related field
- 5 years of experience in a leadership role, supervising a minimum staff of 5
- Extensive knowledge about accounting and management principles and Accounts Payable procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated success with leading system implementations and technological updates as it relates to Accounts Payable or Accounting
- Strong planning and problem solving skills
- Strong understanding of integrated financial systems.
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel; SAP
- Strong leadership skills, with strength to motivate and develop staff.
