Job Summary
The Accounting & Reporting Services Manager is charged with providing Accounting & Reporting Services from the Office of the University Controller to all IU Campuses and Responsibility Centers (RCs) in order to serve four primary functions:
- Compliance and Audit Risk Mitigation,
- Internal Accounting & Reporting Tools,
- Accounting Training, and
- Accounting Advisory Services.
As the manager of this function, this position will provide leadership as we establish the accounting and reporting services function. This position will lead the development of accounting and fiscal guidance, as well as internal financial reporting tools for fiscal officers as both a service and a control. This function will provide guidance related to policies and procedures that staff should follow, in order to produce accurate, transparent, and reliable financial statements. In addition, the team will compile and assist with the preparation of the quarterly variance analysis and balance sheet backup related to the University Consolidated Financial Statements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting and five years of accounting experience.
Combinations of education and related experience may be considered.
Advanced level of accounting practices/methods. Comfortable with database systems and Excel. Strong analytical skills. Results oriented and deadline-drive. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work with individuals at a variety of skill levels in a professional manner. Ability to multi-task. Ability to review a process/procedure and identify improvements or enhancements.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree or CPA. Supervisory experience. Experience with system and/or report design.

Advertised Salary
The salary range for this position is $83,000-$85,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
