Associate Project Director
REPORTS TO: Project Director
SUPERVISES: Relocation Coordinators/Relocation Specialists/Moving Associates/Other Employees as Assigned
OVERVIEW: The Associate Project Director (APD) is a member of HOU’s Senior Leadership Team and works closely with a Project Director on the set-up, implementation, and close out of multiple relocation sites at one time. The APD is usually focused on a particular geography but may also assist with directing sites across the country. Working closely with a Project Director, the APD builds relationships with client. The APD also supervises several relocation staff members and works closely with residents at relocation sites. The APD participates in internal trainings and meetings and external industry events. The APD is supportive of the Project Director and learns about the logistics of relocation and relocation business from the Project Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with the Project Director to set-up, implement, and close out relocation sites. In conjunction with the Project Director, the APD learns how to develop staffing budgets, relocation expense budgets, and relocation plans.
- Regularly visits all sites under her/his purview. Provides supervision of the Relocation Coordinator and other Relocation staff at these sites.
- Maintains comprehensive project reports and project plans to track site progress.
- Ensures staff are appropriately trained on both HOU policies and procedures as well up to date, knowledgeable, and compliant with applicable relocation regulations.
- Participates and contributes in regular calls and meetings regarding current project status as well as new business opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred or fluent in multiple languages.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A Bachelor’s degree and experience in relocation services, resident services, affordable housing or other such similar fields.
- Experience in multiple business functions and systems such as project management, communication, information systems, and marketing.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to work with diverse populations and to communicate effectively with numerous stakeholder groups including staff, clients, and residents.
- Ability to work under time constraints on a variety of projects and tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead and organize staff.
- A positive attitude and a propensity to learn and take on more tasks and responsibilities.
