The Vice President of Operations (OVP) in the Southwest is responsible for the general management and oversight of operations within a geographic region. This position is responsible for the operations of nine facilities in the states of TX, OK, LA and southwest MO. With responsibility for the ‘bottom half’ of the P&L, the OVP provides strategic and tactical leadership, coaching and direction to field management and team members to ensure the company has the proper people, systems and procedures to grow and operate efficiently.
Additionally, this person reports to the SVP of Operations and is part of the PetroChoice leadership team contributing to key strategic initiatives in addition to day-to-day operations. PetroChoice is an aggressively growing company, and this role requires leadership in a changing environment – talent development and performance management are central to this role.

Operations Management responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day leadership and management to Branch Managers directly reporting to the OVP, and the rest of the operational and administrative personnel within the Southeast Region
- Build and foster a success-oriented operational culture focused on safety, accountability and continuous improvement
- Ensure all assigned employees are trained and aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations, and all activities throughout the region are completed in a manner that is safe and in compliance with all requirements
- Monitor KPIs and partner with supporting departments to ensure the achievement of goals established in the areas of customer service, financial management, operational efficiency, and inventory and fleet management
- Develop and mentor direct reports enabling them to meet their full potential; frequently visiting branches and working with managers. Attract and identify top talent for continued growth
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsible for management and leadership of Branch Managers and staff, supporting their success and development.
Travel:
Travel requirements will vary, but 50% – 75% travel should be expected. Successful candidates will have the ability to travel as needed to ensure the operational success of the region.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- 10 years of operations management experience, 5 years at the multi-unit level
- Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational, presentation, team building and planning skills
- Strong critical thinking and reasoning skills; judgement; teamwork; able to handle confidential information appropriately
- Capable of managing contradiction and ambiguity
- Financially savvy and disciplined, effectively managing the bottom half of the P&L
- Ability to work independently, with ambition and bias for action; results-oriented
- Strong functional ability w/ Microsoft Office Suite programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
LANGUAGE ABILITY:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATH ABILITY:
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software, Inventory software and experience working in an enterprise wide system. Experience working in and ERP environment is desirable.
