As a key management position, actively serves on the management team participating in establishing, planning, approving, revising and complementing overall corporate strategies, objectives, policies and budgets. Ensures that present and future brand, product and training strategies are developed and executed in the most efficient and effective manner, always striving to drive demand, improve profitability and maintain maximum customer goodwill.
]Responsibilities:
- Plans, organizes, directs and controls assets and personnel of the department toward the achievement of departmental and company goals.
- Maintains adequate care and supervision of all employees reporting to the department to ensure maximum utilization of Human Resources in accomplishing departmental and company goals. Evaluates, motivates and disciplines subordinate personnel as appropriate in accordance with company policy.
- Directs the development of overall strategic direction for product lines (including new product development, SKU revitalization or rationalization) to insure portfolios have necessary depth and breadth while maintaining financial effectiveness.
- Direct the development of overall strategic direction for brands (including positioning and brand communication elements) to develop superior brand positioning and financial effectiveness.
- Direct the creation, production and dissemination of brand communications, including marketing tools, advertising, trade shows, press releases, and product and program announcements.
- Lead Marketing Services group to develop and execute strategies for sales support, vendor management, lead management, digital marketing and trade shows.
- Drive development of training strategy and curriculum architecture for applicable business unit to support external and internal customer sales and marketing training needs.
- Create and proactively manage departmental budgets to drive the achievement of departmental and company financial goals.
- Develop and maintain competitive intelligence system. Communicate findings to drive and support decision making.
- Gather, purchase and commission market research data to identify trends, opportunities, and/or current business performance. Insure data has analytical rigor sufficient for its purpose and provide interpretation of the data to drive decision making.
- Help identify opportunities for profitable growth, including but not limited to new categories, markets, geographies, products terms of sales or other approaches.
- In collaboration with sales leadership, drive successful execution of annual business meeting.
- Represent the company to the public, industry, community and customers in a manner to enhance its reputation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelorâs degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or other related discipline. MBA preferred.
Experience
Minimum of ten years of marketing/marketing management experience. Experience in the building products and home center industry preferred. Experience with comparable customer base desired. Proven management and administrative effectiveness required.
Skills/Abilities
Highly developed oral and written communication skills required. Ability to develop and present key data and recommendations. Professional, analytical and problem solving skills required. Ability to create and gain buy-in to strategic vision for marketing and business strategies. Strong knowledge of World Class sales and marketing principles and philosophies.
