Position Summary:
This position is critical to the California Manufacturing, Duplex and Warehouse facilities to lead and oversee the safety efforts and risk control for our personnel, equipment and overall operations. The expertise required of this position is necessary to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local Safety Laws (OSHA, CAL-OSHA, Fire, Environmental, etc.), while driving safety education, communication and behavior based programs throughout our workforce to prevent work related injuries.
Responsibilities: Essential Duties
  • Directs operations concerned with protecting an organizations employees, properties, facilities or physical assets.
  • Develops and manages security programs that control access to the organizations facilities or assets.
  • Conducts audits meant to identify potential security weaknesses and ensure compliance with applicable security standards. -Investigates and records accidents, theft or other losses, or allegations of illegal behavior.
  • Selects and oversees the work of external security contractors.
  • Responsible for personnel actions including hiring, performance management and termination.
  • Contributes to strategic planning, direction and goal setting for the department or function.
  • Recommends policies, practices and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.

  • Requires advanced knowledge of professional field and industry. Influences the development of and drives the application of principles, theories, concepts. Determines best course of action.
  • Manages entry to intermediate level employees of a department or a function with 1 or 2 sections. Ensures budgets, schedules, and performance requirements are met.
  • Judgement is required in resolving complex problems based on experience.
  • Interacts with internal and/or external clients and customers to negotiate and interpret information on projects and unit operations. May consult with senior management.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 08-10 years related experience required.
  • Applicable industry/professional certification required.
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Occasional business travel required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
