Job Description
As a Scrum Master, you will be the primary interface between the key internal stakeholders and developers of one or more applications, which involves active engagement in ensuring the sprint goals are met. You will be responsible for managing the accuracy of Sprint metrics in order to have transparency, accountability, and other metrics associated with scrum. The Scrum Master will actively participates in the day to day activities of the development team.
Job Responsibilities
- Liaison & Communicator
- Act as a fully integrated team member
- Responsible for facilitating Scrum stand-ups, Sprint planning, & retrospective meetings.
- Ability to forecast deliverables possible in a Sprint based on evidence, and history of team’s execution.
- Provide leadership and manage expectations to ensure the Sprint goals are met. S/he can coach individuals and interactions over processes & tools.
- Ensure Sprint metrics are maintained and accurate
- Address impediments and/or delays related to the Sprint and releases
- Maintain visible, vocal and objective engagement with all stakeholders, including the development team
- Communicates work in progress and upcoming work to key stakeholders
- Create, maintain and update documentation for our Scrum processes
- Ensure developers are following the Scrum SOP’s
- Training of developers and product owners on our Scrum SOP’s
- Ensuring the PO’s are creating stories correctly and stories are well defined prior to sprint planning
- Maintain the tools used for our scrum process (Jira, Confluence)
- Work with Management to prioritize and sequence the backlog according to business value or ROI
- Participate with team(s) in the backlog grooming process and user story estimates and ensure the team(s) are being accurate with their estimations and are meeting their goals
- Participate in planning meetings, reviews and retrospectives.
- Prioritizes the product backlog and coordinates with stakeholders including the Business owner, Management, and the team to deliver maximum value and quality to the market
- Works with the Scrum team, and Product Owners on release planning
- Works with other Product Owners to ensure dependencies are prioritized appropriately across teams
Mandatory Skills and Qualifications

- 4-year degree or equivalent experience
- At least 2 years of demonstrated relevant experience working in Agile teams
- Proven success in delivering software with Agile Scrum methodologies
- Proven writing skills including the ability to write concisely and clearly for different audiences
- Experience with Jira (Workflows, Transitions, Screens, Projects, etc…)
- Experience with Confluence
- Experience in developing and enforcing Scrum SOP’s
- Proven experience in steering developers and product owners in order to meet sprint goals
- Scrum Understanding of the Software Development life Cycle (SDLC)
