Overview
The Project Manager, Multi-Family Construction performs general oversight of many of the duties and tasks that must be accomplished in the construction, renovation, or restructuring of a property. Must be organized and able to delegate tasks and responsibilities to subordinate project managers, contractors, and laborers. Must have a deep understanding of each phase of the construction process, including architectural design and blueprinting and can communicate with architects, clients, vendors, and subordinate staff. This position must have extensive experience with all areas of construction and must be comfortable managing many staff but also be able to report progress of projects to executive team.
Responsibilities
- Organize and manage staff, contractors and schedules for construction projects.
- Prepare documentation such as scope of work, contracts, purchase orders, reports and budgets.
- Oversee budgets, including tracking metrics and updating equipment logs.
- Lead meetings to ensure budget, user needs, and schedule are met.
- Directs team members at all levels of contract administration.
- Controls any number of projects at various stages of work.
- Monitor and control project through administrative direction of on-site foremen to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget.
- Formulate reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs and scheduling.
- Work with superintendents and foremen to plan, organize and direct activities pertaining to project.
- Represent company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings.
- Work with contract administrator to manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with customer.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contract specifications.

- 5 years multi-family construction experience preferred but not required
- Bachelor of Science in Construction Technologies or equivalent preferred but not required.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently life and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally life and/or move up to 25 pounds.
This is a full-time position which will typically involve 50+ hours a week. Due to the nature of the job, the employee must be available on-call early/late hours to deal with delays, severe weather and emergencies at the job site. The employee may need to travel when the construction site is not close to the main office or when responsible for activities at two or more sites.
