    AXIOM

Axiom Custom Products is a 23 year old privately owned full-service creative manufacturing team in NE Portland that designs and builds activations, retail experiences, architectural environments, art installations, and more.

We believe in the power of ideas, and the magic in taking something that’s pure imagination and turning it into a thrilling, uncompromised reality.

Are you passionate about what you do? Do you believe in bringing quality and excellence to your projects? Do you want to be part of a team that shares those values? Axiom creates projects you will want to be a part of!

    THE PRE-REQ

You have years of fabrication experience; hands-on, not directing the work, building things yourself. If you are directing the work nowadays, you put in the time as a carpenter first. Your building experience might’ve been at another local, rad shop in town or in another city, it might’ve been running your own business, but all the while in the thick of it, building with your team. It might’ve been building yachts, rocking remodels, fabricating cabinets,or as part of the retail/display world. Whatever it was, you built things and you’re ready for the next step in your career.

This role is beyond design or coordination or event management, producing, general project management or a hobby.

This means you’ve worn a tool belt/had a tool box at a job and understand how things are built. You’ve used and are familiar with a variety of materials (metal, plastic, wood, glass, laminate), adhesives, and finishes.

**Please note, hands-on fabrication experience is a non-negotiable requirement of the role, we won’t be considering folks who do not have this experience.

    THE ROLE

We balance state of the art technology with proven construction methods. We assure quality custom products with efficiency and dedication. And we deliver. At the helm of delivery is the Project Manager. Our Project Managers navigate and execute temporary and permanent installation projects working with their designated team, comprised of a Sr. PM that delegates and runs other projects, Project Managers, a SolidWorks Engineer, and a CNC Programmer. Shared resources are electronics, metal, CNC and finishing.

Project Managers are instrumental in working through design, estimating, planning, development, production, and installation phases of the project life cycle. They have a direct connection to the profitability of Axiom and the reason they are successful is that they understand how things are built. But, it’s not that simple, that’s the foundation they bring. Then they come to Axiom learn the process of project management and production at Axiom, inside and out, and execute it.

Though we have dedicated business development resources, our PMs are still responsible for developing new relationships and maintaining on-going relationships with clients, agencies, designers, general contractors, architects and artists.

    YOU

You are comfortable and confident in managing what you know how to build and you are into being an integral part of a team. You are highly motivated, organized, a collaborator. You have an excellent attention to detail — you love the craft.

You have exemplary communication skills and thrive when working in an active environment against tight deadlines. Managing budgets and workflow doesn’t make you flinch. Architectural drawings, the computer and spreadsheets are familiar tools or you are confident that they can be. You know you’ll enjoy the challenge of managing multiple projects, clients, and resources at a time. You are able to quickly learn specifics about our industry including materials, production processes, millwork/casework, trade shows, and retail environments. You are committed to ensuring project excellence. You’ll be checking in with clients, visiting the project site, etc.; frequent local travel requires an current local driver’s license and a clean driving record.

    THE RETURN

Our way of life promotes hard work, but health and family always come first. We ask employees to give us their all, and in turn, we help them live a rewarding life with the balance they need to enjoy their career at Axiom. We offer an opportunity for growth,an excellent salary, 6 paid holidays, 401k and Roth investment options including an employer match, medical, dental, vision (with dependent coverage options). Best yet, at your first anniversary your paid time off jumps up to four weeks!
