Overview: [

Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of designated programs to ensure that goals and objectives of the program are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and budget parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Participates in strategic planning and business development activities.

]Major Position Responsibilities:
Reviews program proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, and procedures for accomplishing program, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of program.

Establishes work plans and staffing for each phase of the program, and arrange for recruitment or assignment of program personnel.

Confers with the program staff to outline work plans and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.

Directs and coordinates activities of program personnel to ensure program progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.

Secures support from other functional areas as required.

Maintains ultimate cost, schedule, and technical performance responsibility for assigned program(s).

Prepares proposals.

Reviews status reports prepared by program personnel and modify schedules or plans as required.

Prepares program reports for management, client, or others.

Confers with program personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.

Coordinates program activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.

Interfaces with customers and develop new customers base.

Assists customers in developing new programs.

Develops understanding of component technologies including potential applications, cost, maturity and risk.

Acquires new awards through expansion of existing programs & acquire new programs through both existing & new customer bases.

Develops new and builds upon current business relationships.

Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree ( B.S. preferred ) from four-year college or university and 10 + years related experience with a minimum of 7 years in program management or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 5 years experience in an industry environment. PMP certification may be counted towards education and experience requirement.
