ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Establish and maintain relations with customers served at this location and with the corporate office.
- Oversee the general operation of the site including areas of safety, employment activity, and all administrative and operational areas.
- Oversee the accuracy, timeliness, and thoroughness of information provided to internal and external customers regarding shipping and receiving, storage, production, and maintenance.
JOB DUTIES:
- Assure that company space is maintained, that all areas of the facility are organized, clean, providing a safe work environment, secure, and presentable.
- Audit environmental issues and regulations affecting the workforce and the grounds at the site.
- Audit and maintain all OSHA standards and regulations.
- Maintain all storage and preservation regulations.
- Overall responsibility for processes involving incoming and outgoing shipments and their inspection for damage and proper configuration.
- General responsibility for the review of all paperwork received from the shipper and the entry of all pertinent information in the appropriate software.
- General responsibility for insuring that loads are secured for shipment as stipulated in federal regulations.
- Overall responsibility for the accuracy and timeliness of written records including:
- Inventory and loading activities for both Keen Transport drivers and contractors, and for units brokered or loaded on outside carriers.
- Oversee the timely submission of all accounting reports including but not limited to: weekly payroll, payables and receivables, petty cash, chain and binder sales, and/or other requested information.
- Oversee and audit the physical inventory monthly and reconcile within an acceptable timeframe.
- Review and audit work orders and maintain prescribed billing cycle and procedure.

Review and audit all repair orders generated at this site.
- Establish relationships with local vendors to ensure best pricing and value.
- Oversee the maintenance of company equipment:
- Review and audit regular preventive maintenance on all yard equipment including cranes, forklifts, and other company vehicles in conjunction with the Director of Maintenance.
- Collaborate with corporate and regional managers regarding appropriate staffing levels and the evaluation and performance of employees.
- Regularly evaluate job descriptions and performance (probationary and annual reviews), acknowledge employee achievement, and when necessary, assist with employee discipline.
- Provide information regarding the performance of the facility to upper management:
- Review profit and loss statements regularly
- Establish and monitor site goals and measurements.
- Ensure that regular safety/training sessions, inspections and meetings are held for new and current employees.
- Working with the Safety and Risk Manager, investigate all work related injuries.
- Review pricing and labor charges for all facility activities on a regular basis.
- Work with local customers and manufacturers as directed by the corporate office relative to local bill rates and other charges.
Job Requirements:
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to meet the minimum daily attendance requirement: Monday through Friday, 7am to 5pm. Some Saturday hours may be required on an “on call” basis.
- Some prior experience with loading, unloading, and scaling procedures relating to construction equipment is preferred.
- Prior experience with the over the road transport and the operation of earthmoving and construction equipment is preferred.
Minimum 2 years experience with employee supervision.
- Office or clerical experience relating to maintaining shipping and inventory records, and operation of standard office machines including telephones, fax machines, and copy machines. Basic PC skills including word-processing and spreadsheet experience.
- Work outside for purposes of loading and inspecting, in all reasonable weather conditions including, rain, snow, sleet, mud, heat and humidity.
- Will be required to walk, bend, climb, twist, and otherwise assume positions necessary to inspect cargo whether loaded on trailers or sitting on the ground.
- Must pass post offer drug screen and background check as a condition of hire
