We are searching for a Full-time Managing Director, Visual Inspection Services at our Harrisburg, NC location.
Summary of Position:
The Managing Director of Core VIS is responsible for planning and directing strategy, objectives, and initiatives that directly contribute to delivering DEKRA North America’s sales and profitability targets for Industrial Inspection. This position is also responsible for identifying opportunities and market changes, and for implementing, evaluating, and adjusting business development strategies to ensure market competitiveness. This role is accountable for leading and managing a team, ensuring they are successful in meeting business objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build and manage a high-performing team dedicated to driving and delivering business results.
- Create a work-environment and culture that encourages and supports diversity and inclusion, teamwork, customer focus, safety, integrity, and respect for all colleagues.
- Monitor and track revenue and EBIT performance to ensure targets are being met.
- Manage the Profit and Loss Statements for assigned business units.
- Implement the strategic business plan associated with the Industrial Inspection business, emphasizing plans to develop and launch new offerings and enter new markets and extensions.
- Work with new and existing customers to secure current and future business
- Locate or propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.
- Understand and document key customer value drivers to allow DEKRA North America to maximize EBIT margin and define the customer value propositions through new and existing service lines.
- Drive strategy by ensuring that customer insights and competitive intelligence are integrated into Core VIS’s strategies.
- Collaborate with other DEKRA Leaders to create cross-selling opportunities, leveraging additional solutions for customers
- Identify and develop strategic global alliances both inside and outside of DEKRA to increase revenue and expand service capabilities.
- Develop global collaborative and productive relationships with operations and other segments to ensure an integrated solution and market position.
- Serve as a proven thought leader in Industrial Inspection and strengthen Core VIS’s brand reputation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the NDT industry, ASNT Level III certification preferred
- Demonstrated experience in managing a large team of direct and indirect reports (over 20).
- Demonstrated senior relationships with North American leadership
- Demonstrated experience in business development and sales
- Demonstrated capacity for planning, service development, creating strategic partnerships, and successful multi-project integration.
- Skilled in collaborating with multi-stakeholders to ensure a fluid process from lead generation to conversion.
- Critical thinking skills as well as strategic business acumen, particularly in a services-as-a solution business setting.
- Ability to motivate teams and individuals around a common vision.
- Analytical skills with the ability to pull the trigger even when there are limited data points.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective problem solver.
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills (working across domestic and global regions).
- Highly motivated in promoting company’s mission and value proposition.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to travel to and work in a variety of client locations, environments, and conditions such as: climbing stairs, walking long distances, walking on rough terrain, working in the heat and/or cold, indoors or outdoors.
- Must be able to accommodate working during various shifts as inspection activities are scheduled.
- Some remote client locations require long periods of driving.
- Must be able to lift minimum 25 lbs.
Travel Demands:
- Domestic and International travel is required; estimated between 25% – 40%.
