The Managing Director of Advisor Services Product Development and Pricing will be responsible for a portfolio of product and pricing initiatives that aligns with our strategic objectives and addresses the needs of our RIA clients. As part of this role, the individual will lead a team that is responsible for the development of the strategic roadmap for key investment products in partnership with product teams outside of Advisor Services. Under the Managing Director’s oversight, the team will participate in and/or lead the design, delivery, and integration of new and existing investment products and pricing solutions for the Advisor Services business.
The Managing Director will also lead the effort to identify AS priorities for products & their respective platforms across the firm and work with partner organizations to influence delivery. The role will require working cross-functionally with all levels within the AS enterprise and other Schwab organizations to ensure that strategic and tactical input is provided in all phases of product design from conception through rollout.
]What youâre good at:
- Strategy and Offer Development. Lead the team in identifying advisor and business needs and performing market and opportunity assessments. Conduct gap analyses against current capabilities to identify opportunities for improvement and investment. Synthesize findings into a compelling business case and presentation to aid facilitation of decision making among the AS leadership team and key business partners.
- Product Planning and Decision Support. Develop a well-informed and trusted point of view to help facilitate the business and product investment planning processes within AS, including drafting summary documents for review with executives that help them understand and prioritize product and service opportunities. Help with resource allocation decisions.
- Client Trends. Monitor and track trends in RIA usage of investment products. Develop processes to identify emerging client needs and pain points to inform project portfolio for the team.
- Partnership. Work closely with key functions outside of AS including Investor Services, Third Party Mutual Funds, ETFs, Fixed Income, Charles Schwab Investment Management, Schwab Wealth Management Advisory and Alternative Investments by participating in the ongoing flow of information and to anticipate potential need or competitive trends in the marketplace as it concerns available products. Follow-up on critical cross-organizational issues / needs, summarize key points and risks, and make recommendations to enable efficient decision making.
- Team Management. Manage the project portfolio for the team ensuring top priorities are appropriately resourced and team is being leveraged in a way to maximize impact to the business.
- Help to develop a proactive agenda with business partners across the firm for product-related initiatives, and drive the implementation of these initiatives.

- 15+ years of total work experience in strategy, client experience, product and/or project management (including 2+ years of strategy experience , preferably in consulting or internal strategy)
- Management experience
- Experience in the financial services industry is a plus
