This position is located in Washington, DC and provides program management expertise. Work will be primarily conducted at LMI headquarters in Tysons, but will also be performed at the client location in Washington, DC. Occasional travel to Baltimore, MD will be required.
]Responsibilities:
The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for managing the budget, milestones and staff for one of our large government healthcare clients. The PM position is a demanding, multi-faceted job requiring the skills of an experienced leader, manager, business developer, and health policy subject matter expert.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leadership: Lead and mentor a group of talented consultants, analysts and IT staff with varying levels of experience and background; build capacity of staff to advance the business in a way that aligns to the firmâs strategic plan; mentor junior staff, and participate in corporate initiatives as needed/requested.
- Project Delivery: Lead the delivery of high quality deliverables, on time and within budget, while establishing project efficiencies and managing key client relationships to ensure client satisfaction. Drive efficiencies in execution of a firm fixed price, time & materials, or cost plus fixed fee contract types while maintaining a high level of performance.
- Health Policy Expertise: Serve as a healthcare policy subject matter expert on policies and programs related to Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP and/or private health insurance programs.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in health policy, health systems management, public policy, business management, or a related discipline.
- Five years experience in management of federal contracts, which involve multiple tasks, changing priorities, variable workloads throughout the annual contract cycle, and quick response.
- Experience managing people and projects related to implementing laws, regulations, demonstrations, or policies related to healthcare delivery and payment reform.
- Demonstrated command of the core principles of effective management and leadership, including the ability to effectively prioritize, delegate, and manage competing priorities and a multitude of ongoing administrative, client delivery, and business development-related tasks.
- Experience with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) or related health care entities.
- Experience developing and presenting reports to senior leadership.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Superior communication skills, both written and oral.
Desired Skills and Background
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Demonstrated ability in the successful management of both small and large-scale consulting projects. This includes all aspects of project capture, bid and proposal, pricing, project initiation, execution, and closeout.
- Experience fulfilling ad hoc analytic deliverables related to Medicare policy (claims, enrollment, quality and/or provider).
- Experience managing or overseeing large data warehouses, preferably in the cloud.
